Follow along practice for the first 10 forms of the Taichi Qigong Shibashi.

For beginners, it might be challenging to synchronise the breath with the forms, so when initially learning the form, it's best to breathe as naturally as you can.

It is important to familiarise yourself with the movements first. When the movements become second nature, then you can start practicing coordinating them with the correct breathing.

The more you deepen your practice with time and effort, everything eventually becomes natural, and free-flowing.

Learn with this principle in mind:

from Patterns → to Details

Spend a good amount of time in learning the general patterns → then focus on the details when you feel like you've reached a plateau or a threshold.

Approach this set as a meditation in motion. Enjoy!

Two weeks in my Motherland:

Visiting during a time of plenty, the harvest season, just after the Kadayawan Festival.

The festival’s name comes from the Dabawenyo word: “Madayaw” which means good, valuable, or beautiful. The significance of the event is of gratitude and thanksgiving for nature’s bounty and harvests.

It also celebrates unity, fostering harmony amongst the diverse tribes, peoples, and cultures living in Davao City.

It’s baby Kaya’s first birthday, along with Yzza’s. It’s a time of joyful reunion with family and friends.

Slipped in a couple of pickleball games as well, just to join the hype!

I am so happy to have caught up with a lot of you, so good to see your faces! Although there’s also many of you I have regretfully missed, because of the very limited time that we had.

Bawi lang sunod!!

It was short but sweet, sa ka daghan sa prutas ug pagkaon. We went all out festive-mode with the vibrant mood of the whole town!

Salamat, Thank you, and kitakits napud puhon, Davao! taken in Davao City, Philippines by @kvedward

Pre-Qigong Warm-up/Opener Routine.

This is the warm-up sequence we do before every class.

Also makes for an excellent early morning wake-up routine as it aims to gently stimulate all the major joints and meridians from head to toe, and open up the breathing
mechanisms our system.

What is Qigong?

Qigong is a traditional Chinese somatic practice that combines gentle movement, breath regulation, and meditative awareness to cultivate and harmonize the body’s vital energy, known as qi.

Rooted in Chinese medicine, martial arts, and contemplative traditions, qigong works by relaxing tension, aligning posture, and guiding attention through the body so that energy and circulation can flow more freely.

Qigong can be understood as a method of embodied awareness—using slow, intentional movement and breath to deepen the connection between body, mind, and nervous system, supporting relaxation, vitality, and internal balance.

“The clearest view of a man is from below.”

Watched The Odyssey Film @ Westgarth Theatre with fam.

First time watching a movie here. Such a cool and interesting cinema!

The movie was great, despite hearing a lot of bad reviews and criticism about it.

Sitting for 3-hours enjoying Christopher Nolan’s work is definitely worth the experience. There were lots of nuggets of wisdom there too. by @kvedward

The Hymn of Love:

If I speak all tongues of men and of angels, but speak without love, I am no more than a noisy gong or clanging cymbal. If I can prophesy and fathom all mysteries and knowledge and if I have so much faith that I can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. If I give all my possessions to the poor, or even give my body to be burnt, but have not love, I gain nothing.

Love is patient; love is kind and envies no one. Love is never boastful, nor conceited, nor rude. It does not insist on its own way. It does not take offense, nor does it keep a record of wrongs. Love does not enjoy evildoing but enjoys the truth. There is nothing love cannot face; there is no limit to its faith, its hope, and its endurance.

Love never ends. Prophecy will cease. Tongues will be stilled. Knowledge will fail. For we know in part and we prophesy in part, but when the Fulfillment comes, the partial will be done away with.

When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I saw as a child, I thought and reasoned as a child. When I became a man, I put away the things of a child. Now all we can see of God is like a cloudy picture in a mirror, but then we shall see him face to face. I do not know everything now, but then I will, just as God completely understands me.

In a word, there are three things that last forever: faith, hope, and love:

but the greatest of them all is 𝙡𝙤𝙫𝙚.
