Hello, friends. I started something here called #MemoryNotes. Over the past few years, after the passing of my mom, I’ve been thinking a lot about how many people bottle up memories and put them on the shelf. It’s about time we open those bottles up! We may be surprised by what we see, feel, touch, and smell.

Huge thanks to @SondreLerche for being the very first one! These videos will be long, so grab a drink or a snackeroo. I think a lot of us get worn down by the pace of this world and getting sucked into the whirlpool of online discourse. We’re more connected than our online avatars would have us believe. I hope this continuing video series is a salve, a place to rest your feet, and a moment to reflect. I’m looking forward to reading @JessWilliamson’s Memories next week from the back of my truck on the side of a desert road. ha

I have no idea where this will go, but I like the feeling of opening my mailbox or inbox with some nice words from inspiring artists. If you have some memories you want to share with me, please DM me or mail me and I’ll include you in future videos. Until next time…drink deeply, empathize sweetly, and remember life is worth sharing. 📝😊 by @kvlemmon

I had the great pleasure to speak with Mr. @RingoStarrmusic (@TheBeatles) at his #PeaceAndLove birthday celebration in Beverly Hills this morning! ✌️ ❤️ We all need a little light in our life these days. #1 drummer in my book. I would love to hear more stories about his skiffle band from the factory town in Dingle. Thanks to him and his team for a warm welcome! 🥁 by @kvlemmon

// Hotel Usona 🏨🇺🇸 [Review]
/// Link in bio to read the review. 🔥🎸🪙

Protomartyr’s seventh album Hotel Usona (short for United States of North America) creates a fitting soundtrack as the country is pummeled by bad reviews. The Detroit veteran band envisions their homeland as a decrepit hotel where one of the TV channels is a live feed from Trump-Kennedy Center. The hotel is coincidentally located in Anacita, a fictional coastal town created by Casey for 2017’s Relatives in Descent. It’s the kind of place where the “liberal-minded close their eyes and dream of technology and kombucha” . . .

“Only the good shit. @AquariumDrunkard is powered by its patrons. Keep the servers humming and help us continue doing it by pledging your support.”

Thank you @GalleryBooks / @simonandschuster for the JENNY WILL EAT YOU NOW: A Meat Cute 🥩 🐀 You ARC. 🚇 I’m been hearing great things about this debut novel all summer! This new horror-romance novel from @gillianlynndaniels releases Sept. 29 via Gallery Books. Gillian’s poetry & short fiction can be read at @nightmaremagazine, @strangehorizonsmag, and @bcsmagazine. Check out the official JENNY WILL EAT YOU NOW description below: 🤤👇

“Sometimes you want to eat the ones you love…right? In this gorgeous horror-romance, river monster Jenny Greenteeth stalks a handsome academic through Boston after a chance encounter leaves her hungry and curious about the world she’s been hiding from.

Jenny Greenteeth prefers to keep her own company beneath the streets of Boston, where she’s lived for hundreds of years. With a conviction that she is far superior to humans—who are petty, dangerous, and fragile—she has no qualms about satisfying her hunger with their flesh. That is, until she comes face to face with a human man who, for the first time, she doesn’t want to eat (but also…she kind of does). Confused by these conflicting feelings, Jenny is intrigued.

So, when two city-dwelling cryptids take up residence in her station, she (begrudgingly) asks them to help her find this mystery man. Along the way, Jenny experiences the modern world for the first time—discovering catcalling, pigeons, protests, fashion, friendship, and Dunkin’ Donuts. On her quest to find the man she couldn’t eat at first sight, Jenny finds herself falling in love. And as she falls in love, two conflicting hungers grow within her—the hunger to be seen and understood and the hunger for human flesh.” 🧜‍♀️🧚‍♀️ by @kvlemmon
