Jamaica 26’ 🇯🇲

They say a picture paints a thousand words. I do like to take pictures, capturing a moment, and even the touch ups I do are quite fun as I try to bring the aroma of the picture to its highest quality. From playing around with the properties of the image, the haziness is an indicator of heat, the grain is an indicator of history, the vibrancy is an indicator of culture.. & so on. I often find myself asking what’s the best representation to remember a place for what it truly is? What seems to catch my attention is: people, everyday objects, scenery and crafted items. I put myself in the frame sometimes to break the lens, so to speak, when I only capture what I see, it makes me feel like I AM the camera, which I obviously am not 📸

This trip has most definitely ignited a certain craving in me, to see more of the Jamaica I know I didn’t get to see. I’ve been going there since I was a boy & the way it feels like home is hard to pinpoint exactly. It almost feels like I have a glimpse into the world of my grandparents, but it’s not the same Jamaica and as grown as I am now I want to explore the world. It’s but a part of the transition of life that I don’t have them with me to show me how they see things but Jah knows I can feel it within me ❤️ #jamaica #ochoriosjamaica by @ky7le

This is what artists who don’t steal and scrape the creativity of other artist to make their work look like 💖

Oh did I mention they’re black beautiful and human who use their trained hands and eyes to be creative.

Did I mention this exhibition just had its second edition this weekend

Did I mention how important it is to support artists who are reflecting life outside the norm.

Did I mention that this needed to be said, oh… it needed to be said

Did I mention to look into every artist and that it’s not by force, but it is greatly appreciated, you never know who’s watching or who’s life you can change by passing on the message 🤍🖤🤍

I was thinking about a lot when I made this, and this was hard to see in my mind unlike many of my pieces of work. But one day I was on the train, staring into space and I just saw it so clearly, like a vision. I pulled out my pocket sketchbook and did the most rough and rugged sketch ever. But it wasn’t about the quality of the sketch, it was about using it as a key to go back into my mind and see what I saw in that moment. The moment that lead to more and more opportunities and had this same piece of art find its way into the homes of many people ❤️

“It’s almost like meditating”

@ky7le shared how the systems embedded in modern society can leave us feeling rushed, overwhelmed and uneasy. He reflected on how other societies have developed calmer, more intentional ways of living—and what we might learn from them.

In a world that keeps asking us to speed up, how do we create time to pause, slow down, and regain control?

+1 🎈

Last year of my 20s and I’m genuinely so looking forward to reaching the 3rd Level. In all this time I have Lived so many lives and I continue to merge with each version of me on a daily/weekly basis. Every timeline comes with its own lessons and experiences. Each episode with its own introduction and review, with the common denominator being myself. It’s taught me so much and here’s just a few things I’ve learned

1. Sometimes being perfect stops you from doing anything all together. Do the thing now, and worry less about the grade until it’s time to review where it could be better.

➡️ swipe

P.s I am so grateful for everyone who has reached out to send me love for my born day. It’s truly felt, it’s a huge amount of love to receive and it softens and expands my own capacity to love. Thank you and I hope to see you soon ❤️

I’ll next be playing at @jungliciousldn 2 yr anniversary 27th Aug 🌴

2. I feel loved. Feeling a constant warmth of love is both powerful as it is heavy. First that love and awareness begins to come from the love that is within. planted by God and usually awakened by someone outside of yourself. With great power comes great responsibility and In order to connect to Gods love, to generate your own power of Love, you must unfortunately feel the absence of Love, even in small dosage, this will highlight where the love is in your life and with that attention you can honor it when it is truly present and giving ❤️

3. A lot of life is preparing for death. There are thousands of ways to die while still being alive. It happens through empathy, vicariously through observing, leaving behind parts of you with people, places, objects, phases… learning to move with this transition makes us more respectful to the transitional periods where we need to die today so that tomorrow we can be reborn ☀️

4. It’s okay to ask for help. Independence and isolation is what will make this world regress deeper into callousness and cold behavior. Not everyone is there to help you, and you are not there to help everyone but every once in a while its okay to open ourselves up to the assistance that is available for our health, wealth, spiritual, emotional and m by @ky7le
