meet the effervescent @kyabrickhouse, playing our Toni! 🪸

----

Kya Brickhouse is an American actress born in New York City. Her screen credits include the horror slasher Trick and the CBS drama The Red Line. After graduating from the acting conservatory at DePaul University, she relocated to Santa Fe, New Mexico. There, she co-founded @theexodusensemble , an immersive theatre company that reimagines classical plays for modern audiences.

----

Kya brought the perfect mix of grounded, quirky and care to Toni, a character embodied by being comfortable in their skin and not afraid to be themselves out loud. Her audition showed how tactful and nuanced of an actor she is, and I can't wait to see her play against our airy Lorelei and Tallula! - @rebecca.greub by @kyabrickhouse

I am grateful to be included in this year’s selection at the Martha’s Vineyard African American Film Festival. I became aware of the festival ten years ago when I made my first short and it was such an exciting feeling to be accepted into this festival I’ve been looking at for a decade.

This will be the official premiere of my new film “Whiteface”

Thank you MVAAFF!

I’ve been saying “yes” a lot more often, taking chances, and betting on myself. It feels wildly satisfying and exhilarating, just like Kya.

Being in front of the camera makes me nervous, but somehow I convinced these talented folks that I could be a part of their story. Thank you, Ohio. Thank you, Ms Trudy , Lauren, Antonio, Tori, Ricki, and Jet.

Shoutout to the crew for running snacks from craft services, ensuring I was comfortable, making this experience memorable, and making me look goodt.
