This was the best concert ever. Lyrics were screamed and tears were shed. “Be whoever you are extremely loud, and be completely fearless when you do it” -Gerard Way. Thank you My Chemical Romance ❤️ taken in Washington D. C. by @kylaa.16

The past few days have been such a blur. Sunday morning, I woke up to a text from a good friend of mine, asking me to call her asap. I didn’t know that call would cause me so much heart break. I had been informed that a beloved friend of mine, Brandyn Powers, was transported to VCU medical and was pronounced brain dead. Shock set in and I was a disaster and still am. Rushing to the hospital, praying I wouldn’t be pulled over by a cop, I thought I was dreaming, that Brandyn couldn’t be dead. And honestly I still can’t believe it. Walking into his ICU room for the first time, I broke down realizing that this was in fact not a dream but instead a reality that I deeply wish wasn’t true. For my friends and family that never had the pleasure of meeting Brandyn, let me explain him. Brandyn is the chef of the froggy dog, the restaurant I worked at while living in Avon NC. He is your stereotypical chef- a very sarcastic smart ass. But I had the pleasure of getting to know him beyond his work title. Brandyn is one of the most talented, intelligent, love-filled man I have ever met. He is the kind of man that is willing to help anyone and any animal that needed it. He didn’t care if he knew you or not, if he knew you needed help he would drop what he was doing to help you. Both of us being smart asses, we instantly clicked, however, what I didn’t know was this man would impact me in so many ways. One of the biggest impacts you had on me was all the advice that was shared with me. Having the ability to confide in you, and you stepping up to give me fatherly advice. It’s something I will cherish forever.
I will miss going to your prep line to “bother” you, miss hearing you “angrily” scream “what now Kyla” all while having the biggest smile on your face. Sitting back there with you asking all about what you were cooking and soaking up all the information you gave me. Miss all the times you would save me scraps or what you called “scoobie snacks” from anything you cooked. Hiding me a plate from the other servers or making special dishes for me. You definitely show your love for people through food, and I am extremely grateful that I got to experience it. Brandyn I love you ❤️ by @kylaa.16
