Be reconciled to God.

Romans 5:10-11 (NKJV) 10 For if when we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life. 11 And not only [that,] but we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received the reconciliation.

2 Corinthians 5:17-21 (NKJV) 17 Therefore, if anyone [is] in Christ, [he is] a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. 18 Now all things [are] of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation, 19 that is, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not imputing their trespasses to them, and has committed to us the word of reconciliation. 20 Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we implore [you] on Christ’s behalf, be reconciled to God. 21 For He made Him who knew no sin [to be] sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him. by @kyle.johnston2

Very important notes:

Love is a fruit of the spirit, and if you do not know God, you cannot love.

Knowing Him and the love that He has for us is a prerequisite for loving others.

That being said, if you say you love God, but do not love your brother, you have not seen or known Him.

Not only is the love of God a prerequisite to loving others, but by necessity, if you know God, you are compelled to love others. This is why Jesus said “you will know them by their fruit” and “by this all will know that you are my disciples, because of the love that you have for one another” by @kyle.johnston2

We are officially moving out of Texas!

We were both born here and have deep roots all across the state. While Ria has traveled the world and lived in numerous cities and countries, I have called Texas my home for almost 23 years.

I could attribute multiple factors that played a part in us making this decision, but it was ultimately God.

If you know God, you know how spontaneous He can be sometimes. He puts dreams and desires in your heart, and fulfills them in ways and at times that you could never imagine.

We are so excited to begin this new journey with each other and with the Lord.

We also are going to miss all of our friends and family in Texas. It isn't easy moving away from those I have loved and known with my entire life, but knowing that God is leading us gives us confidence and comfort that this is the right decision.

That being said, we love each and every one of you, and will miss you greatly. If you happen to stumble from Texas to South Carolina, you know where to find us!

“For from Him and through Him and for Him are all things. To Him be the glory forever! Amen.“

I have found the beauty of Christ in the pain just as much, and even more so at times, as I have in the joy of life. For in your suffering He is present. To know Christ is to appreciate the beauty of the suffering of love. That appreciation culminates when your love begins to suffer for others. Love suffers long. An invitation stands in the midst of your suffering to enter into a posture of love.

To know Christ is to become like Christ, and this is the way. The way is love, and the way of love is to lay your life down for others. Let Him be your example of love when it feels as though you can’t love anymore. Let His life become your life, and His love become your love.

Lord, help us to be loved and to love like you. We can’t do it without you. We need you. Teach us to love rightly. Show us how to lay lives down daily. Make us like you. In Jesus name. by @kyle.johnston2

Would I dare step into the unknown beyond my fears & doubts ?

Am I willing to walk in truth at all cost, regardless of the humility it brings?

Do I have the courage to submit and the strength to lay down my life?

Am I ready to be conquered by love and live for Him?

The mystery of life is beyond me, beyond my reach. Yet it has been divinely given to me in Christ, in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.

Am I willing to go beyond myself?
