5:59 am June 7th. I had been out for about 5 minutes. Sometimes the waves come to you, sometimes they don’t. As you can see I was pretty happy about it. Gracias Zicatela. On January 8, 2021, @peter_mel rode one of the greatest waves in the history of surfing, at one of the heaviest spots on earth, shortly after his 51st birthday. “Everything & All” my latest film with @stab & @taypaul explores the peaks and valleys that led Peter to this exact moment in time. It's a story of family, community and the dangerous pursuit of a high he first felt as a teenager, on a really big wave... one week from today, Wednesday the 24th we will be premiering the film on the big screen at the @riotheatresantacruz Doors open at 6pm, film starts at 7. @perrygershkow and @noahwaggy are about ready to drop another masterpiece. From the extended sneak previews I’ve been lucky enough to see I can honestly say that in my opinion it’s up there with the most beautiful pieces of surf cinema ever created. Stoked to have had the chance to shoot both locally and abroad with the crew. Excited to sit down at @riotheatre on February 21st and watch the film in its entirety. Master artisan of Ventana Surfboards, Martijn Stiphout builds wooden surfboards and boats from reclaimed and recycled materials, such as wood from Nobel Prize-winner John Steinbeck’s Western Flyer that he chartered on a 1940 expedition into the Sea of Cortez. Martijn’s immense amount of work (sometimes over 100 hours per piece) and attention to detail can only be fully appreciated when seeing his boards up close and in person.

Working on the backhand a few weeks ago in Tahiti. I broke every board I took, went into the lagoon 4 times in 5 days, had one leash come off my foot and got a few epic waves.
