TODAY IS THE DAY! The Fresh Start Effect is out!

Life is wild, right?

I don’t think any of us thought this would ever happen. At this stage in our lives. I’m glad we didn’t succumb to the lie that it’s “too late” to make an album.

It’s surreal. We’re really excited. It took two years to make this album and then we sat with it for six months. Now it finally gets to enter the world. It’s official. It’s a thrilling feeling.

Making an album is hard. Like, really hard. Some bands make it look easy, but it’s still incredibly hard. It took a lot of work and cooperation. I would lay awake at night thinking of these songs. I would dream about them. I’d try to imagine what they sounded like. My aim was to make a “classic” pop punk album. No, really. While writing, I thought of albums that have become part of my DNA. I asked myself—“What makes a great album?” But I also just tried to write what I liked and what I would want to hear.

I tried and now that it’s complete, the dream has come true. The mere fact that it’s done feels like the biggest win. It doesn’t need to be anything more.

After we finished it, I knew we did the right thing because we all loved it. I hope you love it. I hope it makes you feel like you can tackle anything. I hope it inspires you.

If you’re wanting to start a band, do it. If you’re wanting to start painting or drawing, do it. If you’re wanting to learn to play an instrument, do it. Make art for art’s sake. Make stuff just to make stuff. Even if you think it’s not good. Even if you have to “suck” at first. It’s worth it.

Trust me.

GAMETIME is releasing an album!

I never thought I’d say those words.

But somehow we’ve found ourselves in this splinter timeline where our band made its way back together. I’m thrilled.

Nick, Gabe, Kyle, and myself have spent the last two years committing ourselves to finalizing this project. It’s required a lot of work coordinating schedules and getting together for hours. It has been an exercise in patience and collaboration.

But little by little we crafted 13 songs. I’m impressed with our ability to have so much fun in the undertaking of it. I genuinely think the ones who have cared about or interacted with our band are going to find plenty to love about these tunes.

We aimed to make an album packed with hope and heart. Thanks to our focus and grit, we willed it into existence.

I’ll put all the pre-order info below. The support we’ve received so far has been immense and overwhelming.

After sharing stages with Yellowcard, Fall Out Boy, Rufio, and more before taking a long hiatus, they reunited in 2021 and haven’t looked back.

Since then, they’ve released 11 singles and are gearing up to release their long-awaited full-length album, Prove It, this October. They’re proof that pop punk doesn’t have an expiration date—it just gets better with age.

GAMETIME put out a new song last week. It’s a love letter to the 90s. Below is the press release:

There was a time before the algorithm. Before the timeline. Before the comments section.

There was Pete & Pete on a Saturday morning. There were @fat_wreck and @epitaphrecords albums in the CD rack. There were bikes and fences and summer days that felt like they had no ceiling. There was “True Romance” and “Gleaming The Cube” on a worn-out VHS. There was @weezer Blue on repeat, and you didn't need to explain why.

We wrote this song for that time, and for the people who still carry it.

"What's With Today, Today?" is a love letter to the '90s. To the culture that shaped us before the internet got cruel. To Chuck Taylors with no socks, Christian Slater movies, and the specific kind of joy that came from not having anywhere to be except right where you were.

This one's for anyone who still believes that time was real. We yearn for the innocence of that time, because it mattered.

“Prove it to yourself
Prove it to the world”

Take a stand and do it in style.

The “Prove It” Shirt is based on and inspired by Gametime’s new tune.

The message and lyrical content of the song is symbolically represented in this classic design. The lighthouse is meant to embody resilience, strength, and the ability to weather storms.

This is a bold front-facing design on a black t-shirt.

We wanted to have a piece of wearable art that acts as a time capsule for the song “Prove It”. We’re so proud of how the track turned out. We wrote the song in an attempt to inject a sense of hope in the listener. We wanted to have a simple positive message that can hype someone up. To tackle big dreams. Or simply to feel like it’s worth it to get back up after a setback.

We think this shirt and its incredible artwork by Samuel Lucas represents the song beautifully.

Gametime has a new song!

It’s called “Prove It” and it’s basically a pep talk in song form.

I was listening to an interview with Ryan Holiday and he mentioned that he thinks the idea of self-belief alone is overrated. He mentioned that he’s built evidence on following through. He has proof that he can do hard things.

I liked that idea. “Prove it to yourself” popped into my head on a random night after hearing that interview.

That’s the mission statement of the song. A mantra.

I’m really proud of this song. There’s an element of defiance in it. It has an “I’m going to persevere no matter what life throws at me”. Life can be very difficult, but music certainly helps. I hope this song injects fire into someone.

It would mean a lot to me and the dudes if you listened. Maybe it’ll be your new hype song.

A massive thank you times a million goes to Kyle Dean Ward for helping us bring this song to life. He’s a wizard and we’re so lucky to work with such a talented artist. He made the artwork, too!
