✨ colorette — trailer reupload, now with subtitles.

some stories change you long before the world ever gets to see them. colorette has been one of those stories for me.

what began as an attempt to tell a story about love, family, faith, and healing slowly became a mirror of my own life. through this process, i’ve had to confront some of my most painful truths, including learning to accept that sometimes, loving something deeply also means knowing when it’s time to leave, let go, and make room for something hopeful and better.

in many ways, this is the most painful project i’ve ever created. it has come with growing pains, difficult lessons, and tensions along the way. while i’ve tried my best to hold myself accountable, i know i’ve hurt people who once believed in this project, and that is something i continue to sit with. i can’t undo everything, but i hope to keep learning, forgiving myself, making amends where i can, and choosing to move forward with love.

i’m endlessly grateful to the trusted collaborators who have believed in this little film from day zero to where we are now. i’m not perfect, and neither was this journey, but deep down, i know i gave this story the very best of what i had to offer.

now, my very cool post production team and i are working hard to finally bring colorette across the finish line, so this little story can find its way into the world. 🥹✨

as i celebrate my 10th year as a storyteller, i’m reminded that sometimes the stories we create to make sense of the world end up teaching us how to make sense of ourselves.

thank you for growing with me, even through the messy parts. here’s to healing, to gentler beginnings, and to whatever comes after the rain. 🌈

tomorrow feels like such a freaking full circle moment for our humble lil shorty..🥹✨

we’re so deeply excited to finally have the public trailer premiere at the BRIDGE THE GAP SD Creative Summit 2026, exactly one year after i first soft launched this little project at last year’s summit, where i also had the honor of being a guest speaker and panelist.

and honestly, i have so much gratitude for everything this experience has given me, especially the people it brought into my life. one of the biggest full circle moments was meeting my favorite collaborator @allyllac who originally won a raffle prize for a 1-1 consultation meeting with me… which somehow turned into an invitation to join colorette and help build the animated world of this film. 🥹🎨

from a little soft launch, to a raffle, to a collaboration, to now sharing our trailer with the community that helped make this journey possible…
