We made it through quite the whirlwind year, most especially, this last “meniscus month!” We’ve endured SO many moves, a house flood, more moves, early ass mornings with long ass commutes… your resilience and adaptability in the midst of extreme instability is awe-inspiring and will hopefully serve your life and future well. What else can we do but create value.
I’m so proud of you.

What a liberating night. I haven’t shared an original poem in sooooo long… and almost said no 763 times, but I wrote new piece in 2.5 days and got up. Apparently, I had a lot to say since it was a SEVEN minute poem.😳🤣 Hopefully this is the first of many more.
Also created my new Mains Event collection, ‘SIDELINE SAYS…’

☘️Happy Birthday DAD☘️
You would be 72! That seems so young💔
I LOVE this photo of YOU, me and Kins. I was home from NYC and we were having our infamous “Catch Phrase” game night. We always laughed so hard playing this and I just get so happy seeing you in this moment.
Games were such a huge part of our upbringing; board games, card games, pick-up games🏀…Nintendo games at Grandma’s… and best of all the POWER PAD! Omg the hurdle races were just the best! (Can we bring back the power pad please)!?

I remember one evening we were driving home in the ‘pickup’ and this song, Wind of Change, came on. You said, “man, this is a great song. Listen to the words.” We just sat there listening, together.
What a cool and loving dad you were. I’m so grateful.
You are the strongest, toughest and hardest working man I’ve ever known, with a poetic and resilient heart. Rare and one-of-a-kind. Witty and Gritty. You simply made everything more fun.

I know I am not alone in this unfathomable miss, I so wish I could play one more round of catch phrase with you, even if only to hear you make fun of me, saying, “Kyles, what’s man.yer?” 🤣 if you know you know.

Water Polo Weekend

Drove 17 hours in three days, had a stiff neck situation, no speedo scenario, first time jitters, some amazing passes, super fab field blocks, some mistakes, great shots, missed shots, lots of fun, disappointment, elation, beach vibes, hanging with old friends, making new friends, fast food, fancy food, convos with water polo greats, lots of growth, perspective shifts, hard work, laughs, frustrations, blaming the mom, appreciating the mom, overcoming adversity, daylight savings time when you have the 730am game😳 and getting the opportunity to pursue your dream.

Winning and Losing. LEARNING. It’s simply training your LIFE. So grateful for these experiences.
I also kind of want to move to La Jolla.
And sleep for 13 hours.
Simon is always so perplexed by my exhaustion after these weekends. Am I right or am I right that the adrenaline used as a mom watching your kids play is almost equal to what they do in the game?🤪🤣🌊🏄🏼‍♂️ hehe.

We’re back. First water polo weekend for the 16u boys club season.
Freezing in the fog… So Bay Area. Quiznos for lunch… So Après.

In lieu of the glitchy streaming, I will be live streaming our next game at 2pm (pst)- Tune in for some enthusiastic, (most likely inaccurate), heavily biased toward the “good guys” water polo broadcasting.

That’s what I told Frankie for his first Niners game. Bummed we didn’t get a TD, but this was a freaking epic experience! His enthusiasm got him gifted the chain and he’s now a locked in fan for life, (also thanks to my legit 49er vintage gold jacket thrift- kids vintage=best vintage)!
