This Father’s Day, I find myself more grateful for you than ever before.

When we met ten years ago, you were already a dad to the craziest, snaggle-toothed two-year-old who I’m now so blessed to call my son. I fell in love with you, but I also fell in love with the father you were. Watching you love him made me certain of the kind of man you are.

Now, years later, seeing you as the father of three, with our even crazier girls wrapped around your fingers; I am overwhelmed with gratitude that we get to do this life with you.

You and I both know this past year has been one of the hardest (and insane???). How we made it onto God’s toughest soldiers list, I’ll never know! There were days when you were carrying burdens so heavy that most people would have folded under the weight of them. And yet, somehow, you still gave the little you had left to our family, even when I didn’t fully understand how much you were giving.

That’s what I will remember most about this year.

The way you loved them when you were exhausted. The way you comforted them when your own heart was hurting. The way you kept showing up when it felt like you had nothing left to give.

This year, you taught me what love really looks like, and I will never take that for granted.

I am so proud of the father you are. So proud of your strength. So proud of your resilience. And so proud of the example you set every single day.

You are the best thing that has ever happened to Jorden, Riley, and Logan; and, most importantly, to me. And I’ll never stop reminding them of that (or you!).

If children weren’t so expensive, I’d probably give you another one. 🤣

But for now, I’ll just say this:

I love you.
I’m proud of you.
I am endlessly thankful for you.

Slide 1: Once upon a time, a boy met a girl…
Slide 2: …and they fell in love.
Slide 3: like real bad.
Slide 4: and they thought, “let’s build a family”
Slide 5: so they did…
Slide 6: …and then they did it again.
Slide 7: it got chaotic.
Slide 8: so they brought in a little help (shout out to our au pair).
Slides 9-11: and despite the chaos, God thought this was good… even when they weren’t, He was.
Slide 12: it gets crazy sometimes.
Slide 13-15: but they love each other (even when they don’t like each other 🙃).
Slide 16: because at the end of the day…
Slide 17: it’s still just a boy and a girl
Slide 18: who fell in love.
