I’ve been into PBS since the 90’s and having to hold the bunny ears on a tube TV to get a fuzzy reception of Arthur. I donated, but didn’t see myself as a Tote-Wielding PBS Member until state funding was slashed a few months ago, so I donated again and dove in as a tote-carrying doubled-up member.

And now, PBS and NPR funding is federally slashed. (I am unsurprised because everything is simultaneously unsurprising and horrifying these days.)
Just a nudge to send some bucks their way if you can (obviously it’s amazingly always free regardless). Get yourself a donation perk, or not. I can vouch for this very Indiana tote making an excellent nap bag, and for PBS and NPR being some of the mentally safer and more helpful things in the world.

(Shout out @classicalstretch 😍, #ArthurTheAardvark 🐰(and Buster), friggin’ @novapbs ✨!! So many more!)

Happy 15th birthday to Kirk N Stein! An easily annoyed, yet still sweet and playful ass who somehow loves me despite all the pills and potions I’ve been foisting on him in his crotchety old age. What do you gift your favorite being who’s on a restricted old man diet and now hates most everything?? (serious inquiry!)

He’s the first born kid of a stray named Rooster, and 15 years ago tonight I spent binging ST:Voyager while waiting on the kitten nuggets, so he and all of his siblings were obvious named after Star Trek.
It took years to truly win his heart, but he won me over from the start with dopey eyelashes and an initial mere tolerance of humans, so I say we’ve been best friends since day 1.

Raise a cheers to him next time you eat fish for dinner🍣 and maybe he’ll feel the vibes and actually finish his own dinner for once 😸

((And a very honorable mention to Milo, who’s been with us since December and has brought out the pro wrestling spirit in Kirk that I haven’t seen in 13 years and is also a very sweet snuggle bud))

Got myself out to Bryan Park for a low key birthday yesterday, and was delighted to see good friends I don’t see often enough and treated to dreamed-of Graeter’s by sweetest @sarahaelle plus a very unexpected Nature gift of BROOD XIV CICADAS!! I had no idea they were here!!
I didn’t take any pictures yesterday, so I’m very glad to have some taken of me while totally blissed out and covered in my favorite bugs!

Also, did you know you can ride a train from Jasper to a ballgame in Huntingburg?? And there’s pizza! A++ gift from @dakotathecurtis

Pretty cool alignment earlier with Gemini ♊️✨🌕❤️🖤

Right now it’s pert near 9pm and Mars is barely visible as it’s getting over…brightened(??) by the moon’s glow.
By way of it’s slower orbit around us, the moon has already fallen back from its pretty spot-on trio line with Castor &Pollux, but I was feeling giddily delighted at its peak fullness/alignment a few hours ago. by @l.dubya

Happiest of birthdays to one of my favorite beings!
Kirk N Stein, the mama’s boy who takes himself too seriously and always has something to say, turned 14 on the 14th and is settling in as a crotchety old man. I couldn’t be there on his birthday proper, but thankfully @dakotathecurtis made him a special hat and provided many treats and I wore Kirk socks from afar.

Just a coupla birthday babes 🎉✨💖
I’ve gone to band practice (twice!) for the first time in years just so I could play some tambourine and sing along with Bob Dylan hits and deep cuts tonight at @thesinkholebeerbar with a weirdo wonderful bunch of musicians! 7-9? 10? Midnight?
There’s like 30 songs! (I’m jumping on half a dozen or so 😆)
Outside is all ages ✨ Come out for a dance and a cheers!

Auspicious view on the eve of the eclipse! I can't believe our luck on a day surrounded by clouds and rain to wake up to these skies. Feeling so lucky to also spend the day with some good folks, talking and learning about how amazing it all is.

I unearthed a monocular in hopes of glimpsing the comet (comet!) near the eclipsed sun, and have been getting jazzed on making pinhole projectors this last week, including this memorial oar + bead --- fingers crossed they all work out!

I hope y'all all have a good day even if faced with clouds! It's a fun thing to know we get to be a part of, and that's pretty exciting just when you live on earth.

Stoked as all get out for this most cosmically holy of weekends!
(Testing out some eclipse crafts has revealed some new fun hidden in the sunset lamp that I'm definitely going to have to play with more....❤️💙💚) Y'all get your pinhole projectors ready for an amazing crescent light party on Monday!🌛

Also, hit me up in B'ton if you need Sun Chips or eclipsed beermosas or more crafts because I'm prepped and looking to party. 🌞🌚🌎

Everybody dies.
If you're lucky you live happy and well for many decades.
If you're even luckier you get to be Betty White.

Do her a solid tribute and donate to your local animal shelter 🧡
