WEEK THREE, CLUE ONE:

Hi Sleuth Circle, Lindsay here. I’ve been doing a little exploring!

While looking around the Apothecary, I noticed a comfortable old chair tucked into the corner beside a small table.

Someone had left a botanical notebook there, its pages filled with pressed leaves, sketches, and handwritten observations.

I couldn’t resist taking a peek.

(Inspector Thistle, if you’re reading this, I was VERY careful. 🐈‍⬛🤣)

And tucked between two pages, I found a small piece of parchment!

Here’s what it says:

📜 THE KEEPER’S CLUE

“The heavens have their place upon my shelves.

But what the reunited key shall open bears neither moon nor star.”

Well now! 👀

I think the Keeper may have given us a way to narrow our search!

🔎 SLEUTH’S NOTE

Take another look at the five numbered compartments in the main Apothecary image.

Pay attention to their markings.

Which ones can we eliminate using the Keeper’s words?

Three possibilities should remain.

I wonder what our other Clue Finders will discover!

Four of Cups Reversed + Duira

As mothers, healers, and caregivers, we often nurture others while forgetting to nurture ourselves.

Duira reminds us that caring for our physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being is not selfish. It is necessary.

The Four of Cups reversed encourages us to recognize blessings we may have overlooked, including our own strength, resilience, and capacity to heal.

Sometimes healing means setting boundaries, honoring our limitations, and doing the best we can with what we have.

And perhaps the greatest blessing is this: When we begin to heal ourselves, we inspire others to do the same.

Our choices ripple outward, touching lives and even generations yet to come.

Today, I am grateful for the blessings I’ve received and those I can pass forward.

We are the continuation of countless stories, some remembered and others forgotten.

The Ten of Pentacles reminds us of our roots, the generations that came before us, and the wisdom, traditions, and legacies passed down through time.

Judgement calls us to acknowledge those who walked this earth before us, whose choices, sacrifices, triumphs, and struggles helped shape the lives we live today.

Today, I honor them all. Those whose names I know, those whose faces live in my memories, and those whose stories have been lost to time.

I honor their strength, their courage, and the paths they traveled. I carry forward their gifts with gratitude, while releasing what was never mine to bear.

The Magician + The Star

There is magic in what we create, but there is also magic in what finds us.

The Magician reminds me that I already hold the tools, the intention, and the ability to shape what comes next. The Star feels like the blessing that follows, a quiet light of hope, trust, and possibility.

Together, they feel like the meeting place between making the magic and allowing myself to receive it. ✨

Might magic just be the spark of an idea, the right person appearing at the right time, a moment of clarity, or simply remembering that there is still wonder here?

Binx 🐾 🖤 came to us while I was working at a metaphysical shop named Witchy’s. Even though he was only with us for a short while he stole our hearts and taught us much about life. ♥️

Page of Cups

Memory is such a strange and tender thing.

Sometimes it returns as a clear picture, and sometimes it comes back as a feeling, a scent, a song, or a version of ourselves we had almost forgotten.

The Page of Cups feels perfect for this kind of remembering. It speaks to imagination, emotion, intuition, and the softer parts of ourselves that never really disappear. Sometimes memory is not asking us to go backward. Sometimes it is simply reminding us of who we have always been.

I included my Celestine crystal in this image because I associate it with peace, intuition, dreams, and quiet spiritual connection. It felt like the perfect companion for a card that speaks so gently to the heart and to memory.

Burn Day 6: Transform
Death + Spider

Transformation rarely arrives politely.

Sometimes it asks us to shed a skin, release an identity, or step away from what once felt familiar. Death reminds us that endings are not empty spaces. They are thresholds. Spider reminds us that once something has been released, we still have the power to weave again.

There is something beautiful in that rhythm:
shed, unravel, rebuild.
Not back into what was, but forward into what is becoming.

Maybe transformation is not about becoming someone entirely new. Maybe it is about letting go of what can no longer contain us, then creating from what remains. 🕷️🔥

Burn Day 5: Reclaim 🔥
Queen of Wands + Witch

There comes a point when letting go is no longer enough. After we release what no longer belongs to us, there is space to reclaim what does.

The Queen of Wands reminds me that my fire was never truly lost. Maybe I quieted it. Maybe I gave too much of it away. Maybe I simply forgot how brightly it could burn.

And Witch whispers from somewhere deeper: grab hold. The fire is still there, living at the roots of who I am.

Today I reclaim my voice.
My power.
My fire.
My magick.

This was SO much fun! 🔎🦋

I loved following the clues, comparing possibilities, second-guessing myself a little 😄, and finally landing on the right room. Receiving the Moth Honor, Keeper’s Mark of Notice made it even more special.

And I have to say, I’m rather fond of my new Sleuth Circle wardrobe. 😉✨

Thank you for creating such a clever, imaginative little mystery. I’m already looking forward to seeing where Hollowbriar House takes us next.

Burn Day 4 • Ignite
Rebirth

Sometimes the fire is not here to destroy us.
Sometimes it comes to wake us.

There are moments when something old has to burn away before we can recognize what is trying to come alive beneath it. Rebirth is rarely quiet or comfortable. It asks us to release what can no longer follow us and trust the spark that remains.

Ignition begins in that small, stubborn flame.
The part of us that is still willing to rise, create, begin again, and become something new.

Burn Day 3 • Forgive
Judgement + Reflection

Forgiveness does not ask us to pretend the wound never happened.

Judgement asks us to look back with clearer eyes, to understand what shaped us, what we regret, and what we are finally ready to release. Reflection asks for that same honesty within ourselves, even when what we see is uncomfortable.

Sometimes the hardest person to forgive is the one in the mirror.

We can acknowledge the choices we wish we had made differently without sentencing ourselves to carry them forever. We can hold the truth of what happened and still choose not to live inside it.

Perhaps forgiveness is not forgetting.

Perhaps it is looking directly at the past, taking the lesson, and allowing the rest to burn away. 🔥
