🏆 BIG V AWARDS 2026

⭐ LAKOTA BEATTY — DIVISION TWO WOMEN ALL STAR FIVE!

Dominating from Oklahoma to Melbourne 🇺🇸➡️🇦🇺, Lakota put together an incredible season in teal, shooting a ridiculous 42% from downtown. 🎯🔥

A four-time Big V Weekly All-First Team selection in 2026, Lakota dominated both ends of the floor all season—ranking TOP THREE in scoring, assists and minutes played while snatching two steals per game.

Congratulations, Lakota — a well-deserved All Star Five selection! 👏🏀

“Being a professional is mostly what you do off the court. Saying hi, shaking hands, saying thank you, helping however you can around the stadium. I can be in a bad mood, I get irritated, I miss my family, I miss my dogs. But it’s that mindset of, you’re about to go train these kids, so put a smile on your face. This is what you asked for.”

Being great isn’t about how you feel that day. It’s showing up right anyway, and being thankful you get to.

Your response is contagious.

In the game against Egypt, Messi missed a PK. And rather than put his head down, he just walked off steady. Why? Because he knew his reaction sets the tone for everybody. If he looks defeated, the whole team feels defeated. If he stays calm, they stay in it.

He feels the frustration just like anyone, but he chose not to show it outwardly. That’s the discipline.

The Coburg GIANTS are pleased to announce the signing of shooting guard Lakota Beatty to our Division 2 Women’s squad for the BigV 2026 season.

Having competed in New Zealand and most recently in the Netherlands, Lakota brings valuable international experience, excitement, and a strong scoring presence that will elevate the squad.

In addition to her playing background, Lakota has worked within the OKC Thunder youth program, adding leadership and impact both on and off the court for the GIANTS this season.

Lakota will be arriving in the coming weeks, so be sure to give her a warm welcome when you see her around the club.

2nd Annual OKC Thunder Native American Basketball Summit ⚡️

Hooping on the court and being asked to collaborate with the @nba Champions means so much to me as an Oklahoma girl.❤️‍🔥 It is an enormous privilege to me to be a strong Indigenous woman in sport that strives to model the fight, intelligence, and resilience of all of my ancestors.
The real prize is the joy on the kids’ face, knowing they have so many people going up to bat and creating space for them to thrive.
Thank you to the best organization in the world @okcthunder! 💙
