Louisiana, let’s get ready to make our voices heard!

This Saturday, September 26, the Louisiana Mandate Day of Action will bring communities together across the state to talk about the issues that matter to our families: affordable housing and groceries, good jobs, quality schools, sate neighborhoods, and opportunities to build a better future.

Start with someone you know. Help a friend or neighbor check their voter registration, learn when and how to vote, and make a plan for November 3.

We cannot claim to live in a post-racial society while applying different standards of justice depending on who is involved.

I was honored to be the keynote speaker at the Lake Charles NAACP Freedom Fund Gala, where I spoke about the death of Nolan Wells, the persistence of racial double standards, and why organizations like the NAACP remain necessary in 2026.

Everyone has a position to play. Get off the sidelines. Get in the game. taken in Lake Charles, Louisiana by @lablackcaucus

What an incredible and inspiring experience! ✨

The Louisiana Legislative Black Caucus was proud to collaborate with the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation during its 55th Annual Legislative Conference to present a powerful discussion on the landmark case, Louisiana v. Callais.

Together, we elevated important voices, addressed issues affecting representation and voting rights, and strengthened the movement for justice, equality, and meaningful change. This powerful gathering reminded us that when leaders unite with purpose, we can turn conversations into action and challenges into progress.

We are rooted in our history, ready to lead, and rising together! The work continues, and so does our commitment to protecting every voice and building a stronger future for Louisiana and communities across the nation. ✊🏾

Trump’s trying to take away our healthcare. Education from our schools. Food from our tables. And rob the American people of their VOTE. 🗳️

We refuse to let this Administration ruin life for us and for the future. Head to vote.gov and check your registration status!

Join me, the UrbanLeague of Louisiana, the Louisiana Legislative Black Caucus and community partners on September 26 for a statewide day of action to register voters.

Let’s win this fight on November 3rd together.
