Leaving TIFF ✈️ heading to Woodstock Film Festival Hi! I am the director of the documentary film @re_pairproject. We are excited for our next stop for Re/Pair to be at my hometown film festival- @woodstockfilmfestival! Upstaters, please come to our screening on October 15th at 7:15pm at the iconic @bearsvilletheater! While in Toronto (Yes, I am STILL here), I got to see my friend Melissa Auf der Mar’s @xmadmx photography show which mostly covers the time she spent photographing her experience touring as bassist for Hole and Smashing Pumpkins in the 90s. Wow. It is worthy of the grid and then some. If you can’t get to Toronto I highly recommend the book of the exhibit. #MAdMxAGO #TIFF taken in AGO - Art Gallery of Ontario by @laceysd

Meet Lacey Schwartz Delgado, the director and one of the producers behind ‘Re/Pair.’

Lacey grew up in Woodstock, New York, raised Jewish, and always sensed she looked a little different from her parents. At 18, she learned the truth: her biological father was Black. That discovery sent her on a journey to understand what it meant to hold both identities at once, at a time when she says being Jewish was seen as synonymous with being white.

That journey became her acclaimed 2015 documentary, ‘Little White Lie.’ It also shaped over a decade of work dedicated to racial and ethnic diversity within Jewish communities, and one of the reasons Re/Pair exists.

When this project came to her through RadicalMedia, Lacey saw an opportunity to make something bigger than one perspective. Not a film that tells people what to think, but one that puts people in a room and lets them actually talk.

Discomfort, disagreement, and contradiction are part of the process; that’s the whole point.

I am thrilled to announce that my latest film, Re/Pair, will have its World Premiere at the 2026 Toronto International Film Festival @TIFF_NET.

In an increasingly divided world, Re/Pair brings together 19 pairs of Black and Jewish thinkers, some longtime collaborators, others meeting for the first time, to engage in wide-ranging, unguarded conversations about their families, communities, shared histories, and points of difference. As ideas, fears, and personal stories surface, the film reveals what can happen when we make space to listen, connect, and keep the conversation going.

I wasn’t born in Brooklyn (like my parents and kids were), but I lived there for many years, in many iterations, and it feels like my second home. So spending 24 hours there doing two of my favorite things was a literal treat: Running a race in Prospect Park (one of my favorite running routes) and supporting one of my favorite libraries (@bklynlibrary run by the fierce Linda Johnson) where I unexpectefly got to spend the evening with my favorite Librarian, Dr. Carla Hayden - my forever Librarian of Congress, they honored one of my favorite actors @jfreewright who as always enlightened the masses, and I rolled with my favorite husband @delgadoforny. Counting my blessings and internalizing the joy. #BrooklynStandUp by @laceysd

@delgadoforny always talks about how I was on this earth for 19 days before he came along so I primed it for him. And he deeply believed it was just a matter of time till we found each other… Every year is a reminder of that strong connection.

And now this year marks the year that we will have known each other as long as we lived before we met… Every year has brought a lot of big changes and this year is no different. And we still have so much to look forward to in this coming year...

Antonio, today on your birthday, I am so proud of all your hard work and all you have become - as a father, a public servant, and the person I know rides for me like no other.

New Yorkers! I have been involved in fundraising for politics since Trump got elected the first time which led @delgadoforny to first run for office. But I don’t think I’ve ever been as motivated as I am at this very second because for the first time ever New York State has a statewide matching program. We almost didn’t get involved in politics because we disagreed with money in politics and we have never taken $1 of corporate PAC money so the idea that public matching is finally happening in New York State is incredibly exciting.

We are 6 hours away from our fundraising deadline at midnight ET. That means we are 6 hours away from making and crossing over the threshold to becoming the first gubernatorial candidate in New York state to ever qualify for public matching.
