‘Ruddy Shelduck’ The Ruddy Shelduck (Tadorna ferruginea), also known as the Brahminy Duck, is one of the most beautiful waterbirds found across the Himalayas. Its striking orange-brown plumage, pale head, and graceful flight make it easy to recognize.

This remarkable bird breeds around high-altitude lakes and rivers in the Himalayan region and migrates seasonally across South Asia. Ruddy Shelducks are usually seen in pairs, symbolizing loyalty and companionship. Their loud, distinctive calls and ability to thrive in rugged mountain landscapes make them a favorite among birdwatchers and nature lovers.
