Did you know?

In the back of a lot of people’s minds is the word “DIVORCE” whenever a mention of Ante-nuptial Contracts is made?

This is totally the opposite. First of all, no one gets married to divorce!

ANC (not the Cupcake one, lol) is there so that you may protect each other’s assets when the time comes in the marriage. Think of this? Imagine losing all that you had because you kept all your eggs in one bag (joint estate)? This you don’t want to even hear about, trust us…

More than anything, we view this as protecting each other, making sure the future of your kids is taken care of too. There are so many advantages of marrying out of community of property (OCOP). It would take an entire class to talk about choosing a marriage regime that best suits your interests.

AGAIN, Did you know?

A lot of people find themselves already in marriages of In Community of Property (ICOP) because they think a marriage will only exist once they sign at Home Affairs?

This is so wrong…once the families meet to negotiate, do all those African things we do thinking we’re “preparing” for marriage, you are already married! That’s a Customary Marriage, and is legally existing.

Yes, how do you think our grandparents got married? They did not need to sign anything for their marriage to be valid. “Unfortunately” such marriages are rendered to be marriages ICOP.

BUT, don’t you worry, GOOD NEWS: You are able to convert your marriage regime from ICOP to OCOP no matter how long you’ve been married.

You just need us!
