💙 LAOTW @pilot.alejandra 💙

My aviation journey started as a gate agent for Alaska Airlines, where I fell in love with airplanes and knew I wanted to be part of the aviation world.

I truly believe God has a plan for each of us, and one of the biggest blessings in my journey was meeting someone who ultimately granted me a full scholarship to earn my Private Pilot Certificate. It taught me an important lesson that I always share with aspiring pilots: tell people your intentions! You never know when sharing your dream can lead to a divine connection and an opportunity you never imagined.

After earning my PPL at Fly Compton Flight School, I began working as a flight attendant for JetBlue to help fund my personal expenses. It worked out perfectly because I was also able to participate in their Gateway Flex program while continuing to pursue my aviation goals. Eventually, I moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma, where I continued my training and earned the rest of my certificates, all the way through CFI.
Today, I work as a Sales & Marketing Manager at Tulsa Flight Training, where I get to inspire and encourage new aviators and help introduce more people to the incredible world of aviation.
Although I really enjoyed my time in the airlines, my dream is to fly corporate jets. Later in my career, I’d love to transition into cargo and eventually fly cargo into retirement.
My advice to future Lady Aviators is simple: don’t be afraid to say what you want. Speak your dreams out loud, make connections, stay persistent, and trust God’s timing. Sometimes the opportunity that changes your life comes from a person you never expected to meet.

If aviation is your dream, go after it. There is room for you in the sky. ✈️💕

Hi ladies! My name is Rosalie and I’m an instrument-rated private pilot as of a week ago (yay!) and I’m well on my way to completing my commercial in Phoenix, Arizona. ✈️

I’ve always admired pilots, but flying has always been in my mind “something other people did”. I had my epiphany when I went skydiving with my best friend, Vasi, 3 years ago and I thought it was silly that I loved the flight up significantly more than I liked going down. (And yes! You read her name right! Another sign!) I was at a point in my life where I was looking for change and had always been drawn to “challenging” hobbies anyways — so why not give a pilot’s license a try?

I went with what I thought was a nontraditional route by becoming a flight attendant first, but I quickly learned that there’s a lot of us out there and I have loved every second of it! Learning from pilots of all aviation backgrounds has been essential to my training and it was the perfect place to be as a first generation pilot. While it hasn’t been all sunshine and I’ve hit some financial hurdles; I persevered, made the necessary sacrifices, hustled and ultimately conquered my goal of getting my PPL(with no debt!) and now my instrument rating (lots of debt haha!) I owe a huge thank you to the several mentors, now friends, whose advice, encouragement and contribution to the pro-rata share helped me get where I am now!

You’ll see me soon doing more Pilots N Paws flights, flying into Oshkosh or attending conferences (look for me at WAI!) and eventually at the majors or flying a business jet! 🛩️

nuggets of wisdom I live by are:

1. Trust, but verify.
2. Comparison is the thief of joy
3. Hours are hours! Might as well cruise slow and enjoy the ride!
4. Frustration is fuel & failure is not an option

Hi everyone! I’m Clara, an instrument-rated, second-generation private pilot living in DFW. My journey didn’t start in aviation—I actually went to college for accounting! I graduated in 2021 and spent the next three years working in finance, but I never felt truly fulfilled. Aviation was always in the back of my mind, which I largely attribute to my dad. He owned a Socata Tobago and would take me along on cross-country flights when I was younger, and those are still some of my favorite memories.

It wasn’t until 2023 that I officially started flight training, and that’s when my love for aviation really took off. Halfway through my private pilot training, I realized I wanted to make flying my lifelong career. For the first time, I felt like I was exactly where I was meant to be.

I earned my private pilot certificate in 2024, moved from Tulsa to Dallas in 2025 to pursue flight training more purposefully, and have since earned my instrument rating. Now I’m working on finishing up my commercial certificate!

My journey hasn’t always been the easiest or the fastest, but I’ve learned that everyone’s path in aviation looks different. I’ve been incredibly fortunate to have some amazing opportunities along the way, including owning a Cirrus SR20 that I fly and train in, and I’ve met so many wonderful people who have made the journey even more meaningful.

My ultimate goal is to fly for the airlines. I still have a long road ahead of me, but I always remind myself to stay focused on the goal, keep moving forward, and most importantly, remember to have fun along the way!

I didn’t grow up in an aviation family; my spark came purely from a love for adventure, a lot of curiosity, and honestly just wanting to challenge myself. The true turning point was meeting an everyday private pilot who owned his own airplane. Realizing that flying wasn’t some unattainable dream, but something a regular person could actually pursue, changed everything for me.

Today, I’m a Commercial Pilot and a CFII working at Independence Aviation. I’m also part of the United Aviate program, actively building time toward my ATP. My ultimate dream is to fly private jets. Outside the cockpit, you can usually find me tending to my collection of indoor houseplants, hiking local trails, or painting with Bob Ross 🎨

If I could offer one piece of advice to future Lady Aviators, it’s this: don’t wait for permission or for the ‘perfect’ time to start. The aviation community is full of people who started with just curiosity and a dream. Take that first step, engage in a discovery flight, and remember that you belong in the flight deck just as much as anyone else! by @ladyaviators

I never expected aviation to become such a big part of my life, but stepping into the cockpit changed everything ✈️🩷 It was something I did on a whim, because I initially wanted to be a fighter pilot in the air force. I’m currently working on competing for a slot in the Arizona Army National Guard!

I have my Private Pilot Certificate, recently earned my Instrument Rating, and I’m working toward my Commercial!

I’m also a dancer, singer, and creative, and I’ve learned I don’t have to choose between passions—I can be all of them!

My goal is to keep growing as a pilot and inspire other women to go after what feels out of reach! Women really can do it all and be anything!

Advice: start before you feel ready. You’ll learn as you go, and you will never feel 100% ready for anything.

I’m honored to be nominated as Lady Aviator of the Week and proud to be part of this community 🩷✈️

I’m now working toward my Commercial ASEL while attending Cal Poly SLO for Agricultural Business. A week after graduating, my parents and I bought a 1964 Cherokee 180 so I’m just trying enjoy the process and build time :)
I’m incredibly grateful for the mentors and people who believe in me, even when I don’t believe in myself. I was raised to be a strong, independent woman, and I feel like I’m living true to that. My dream is to fly a PC-12 commercially, and long-term, I’d love to fly for a major airline such as Delta or Alaska.

My advice to future Lady Aviators: put yourself out there, talk to people, network, and treat everyone with respect. Join organizations like the Ninety-Nines, WAI, AOPA, and EAA. Some of my biggest opportunities came from simply reaching out! You don’t need it all figured out. Take it one flight, one goal, and one opportunity at a time.

Hi! My name is Sam Walsh! I never thought about a career in aviation until I was given a free discovery flight through EAA young eagles right before I turned 18. Their volunteer work along with preflight camp has changed the trajectory of my life and I could not be more grateful for the mentors and role models I’ve met along the way! I started flight training in 2024 and I am currently finishing up my commercial training. My dream job is to work for a fixed wing medevac company and help transport patients to higher levels of care.

While I work towards that goal I am a dispatch technician for the Aims flight program, I am our schools flight team (NIFA) captain, and I love to volunteer with Preflight camp and EAA events on the side. I also hope to be a CFI in the near future and continue to grow my passion for teaching. The aviation community is unlike anything I’ve experienced, I’ve met so many inspiring individuals and hope that someday I can inspire others the same way they have inspired me ✈️ 💛
