Mar. 4, 2027: Celtic Connections
Location: Rat Pak Venue
This March, we’re moving beyond the green beer to bring you the true, heart-thumping soul of the Emerald Isle and the Highlands. Celtic Connections is a guided chamber music journey that explores the deep, mist-covered roots of Celtic music and its surprising branches right here in our own backyard.

May 20, 2027: An Evening with Tuffus Zimbabwe & Friends
Location: MatchBOX
Join us for an exclusive performance featuring Tuffus Zimbabwe—renowned pianist for the Saturday Night Live Band—as he steps center stage for an intimate evening of world-class rhythm, rhyme, and storytelling.

Note: additional performance Saturday, May 22, 2027 at the Delphi Opera House

June 12, 2027: Mischievous Musicale: A Night of Comic Operetta
Location: Lafayette Civic Theatre
The Lafayette Symphony Orchestra is joining forces with the Lafayette Civic Theatre for a one-of-a-kind collaboration that proves classical music has a wicked sense of humor. This isn’t your typical night at the opera; it’s a fast-paced, laugh-out-loud journey through the dramas, dilemmas, and “did-that-really-just-happen” moments of everyday life. Forget the subtitles and the stiff collars - we’re brining the theater to life with a wink and a nod.

Announcing the Lafayette Symphony Orchestra’s 2026/2027 Season— Listen Together!

Our Mainstage series expands to five concerts this season!

Sept. 26, 2026: AutochthonoUS: Stories of WE the People
Autochthonous refers to peoples originating in the place where they are found presently - despite ancestral background or genetic origination. This program celebrates the many vibrant and multifaceted identities of the collective American spirit, but it was inspired by this single word that is a constant compass toward unity.

Oct. 24, 2026: The Art of Jean Sibelius
Explore the mastery of Finnish composer, Jean Sibelius, a visionary who carved a rugged, singular path through the landscape of modern music.

Dec. 12, 2026: Holiday Pops: Mistletoe & Magic
Not just a concert; this evening will be a high-definition, live-soundtrack celebration of every
memory that makes the holidays magic with LSO’s Principal Pops Conductor, José Valencia.

Apr. 17, 2027: Past & Presence
This program explores the concept of “looking back to leap forward,” featuring four composers who reached into the musical or visual past to find a fresh, contemporary voice.

May 8, 2027: Songs of the Sea and Keller Showcase
This program captures the awe-inspiring presence of the sea - a force that has long served as a mirror for the human psyche. From the rugged, jagged coastline of Cornwall to the vast, impressionistic horizons of the French Atlantic, these works explore the ocean not merely as  a setting, but as a character in our story.

Tickets will be available on June 26th!

Next weekend on our all-Sibelius program you will hear ‘The Swan of Tuonela’ 🦢

The music paints a gossamer, transcendental image of a mystical swan floating through Tuonela, the realm of the dead. Lemminkäinen, the hero of the epic, has been tasked with killing the sacred swan, but on the way he is shot with a poisoned arrow and dies. In the next part of the story he is restored to life.

The solo English horn represents the beautiful swan. This is one of the most prominent solos in the English Horn repertoire. Come hear this stunning work next Saturday, October 24th at 7:30pm at the Long Center for the Performing Arts!

The Wurlitzer organ at the Long Center for the Performing Arts has a long history dating beyond its 1982 premiere.
We’re looking forward to being a part of that history as we welcome Dr. Wendy Yuen to the stage to play this captivating instrument with the LSO on October 24th! taken in The Long Center for the Performing Arts by @lafayette_symphony

The B-Side concerts are a more intimate experience than a traditional symphony concert — a chance to get closer to the musicians, the music, and the stories behind what you’re hearing. And this next B-Side is going to be something truly special. 🎶🎨

The B-Side, Track 1: Unframed: Art Out Loud
📅 November 13, 2026
📍 Art Museum of Greater Lafayette
🎟️ FREE EVENT!

What happens when a melody paints a picture, and a painting sings?

Join the Lafayette Symphony Orchestra and Art Museum of Greater Lafayette for an immersive evening that brings the gallery to life. Wander through the work of exhibiting artists Mary Pat Wallen and Caleb Weintraub, who will be in attendance, while LSO musicians perform a multi-genre chamber program inspired by their art.

This isn’t simply a concert in a museum. It’s the result of a months-long creative exchange between LSO Artistic Director Kellen Gray and the artists, exploring their creative processes and discovering the musical pieces that best reflect the emotion, stories, and ideas within their work.

Throughout the evening, exclusive video segments from those intimate conversations will give you an even deeper look into the connection between music and visual art.

Come wander. Come listen. Come see what happens when art gets a voice.

And did we mention- it’s FREE?

Admission is free thanks to the generous sponsorship of Duke Energy and Purdue Federal Credit Union, with support from Cellar Wine Bistro.

Save the date and come experience the B-Side! 🎶🖼️
