“CALIFORNIA CITY, Calif. (KABC) — A California man arrested in connection with a dog attack that left a 12-year-old boy dead is expected to appear in court Monday.

Authorities say two of Kenneth Dobbins’ off-leash dogs chased Fernando Torres Moreno at a park in California City. The boy tried to escape by running into a lake and ultimately drowned.

Los Angeles County deputies later arrested Dobbins in Lancaster. The 68-year-old faces charges of involuntary manslaughter and negligent ownership. He is being held at a Kern County jail.

𝗡𝗲𝘄𝘀: #LAHMFlockSeason 🏠🌴👀 | Two #InlandEmpire men recently went down for over 6 millions in stolen cash, jewelry, designer bags, and guns allegedly stolen from a series of burglaries in both Los Angeles and San Diego County 💎💰🌴👀

“What started as a single residential burglary in El Segundo has evolved into a multi-county investigation, leading authorities to a staggering $6 million haul of stolen luxury goods and a suspected organized crime ring.

The investigation began on Jan. 10 after a home near California Street and East Sycamore Avenue in El Segundo was hit. The victim reported over $600,000 in valuables missing, including high-end jewelry and designer handbags. As El Segundo detectives followed the trail across several counties, it became clear this wasn’t just a one-off heist, authorities said.

On Feb. 25, investigators tracked the suspect to a home in Temecula. When they served a search warrant, they didn’t just find the El Segundo victim’s property, they found a massive collection of high-end stolen goods.

Photos released by authorities on March 12 show a haul that looks more like a boutique on Rodeo Drive than a suburban residence.

The recovery included 39 Hermes Birkin bags, dozens of Chanel and Louis Vuitton bags, and 22 designer watches from brands like Patek Philippe, Audemars Piguet, and Rolex. Police also seized 20 firearms, gold coins, collectible sports cards, and over $800,000 in cold hard cash.

According to De. Michael Keltner of the El Segundo Police Department, investigators believe the suspects targeted individuals based on their social media accounts, seeing posts about luxury items they owned.

The suspect, whose name was not released, faces charges of residential burglary, felon in possession of a firearm, and possession of stolen property. Police believe he is part of a crew operating across Los Angeles and San Diego counties, Keltner said, adding that a second suspect has already been arrested in connection with the case." · (credit: @ktla5news)
