Recovery changed me. And not in the pretty, inspirational-quote kind of way.

It was painful. It was scary. It was uncomfortable. It meant facing parts of myself I spent years avoiding, questioning everything I thought I knew, and learning how to live differently.

For a long time, I thought being good enough meant simply getting by. But recovery taught me that I deserved more than just surviving.

Then I started a new career that challenged me in ways I never expected. It pushed me outside my comfort zone, forced me to grow, and showed me that I was capable of so much more than I had ever given myself credit for.

And one of the biggest reasons I keep going? My boys.

I want them to see that you don't have to be perfect to make progress. You don't have to be fearless to take a chance on yourself.

There will never be a perfect time to start. You'll probably never feel 100% ready. Sometimes, you just have to take that first step, even when it's uncomfortable, and trust yourself enough to see where it takes you.

I want them to learn that:

When life gets hard, you keep going.

On the bad days, remember there's always the possibility of a better tomorrow.

When you have small wins, celebrate them.

When you feel alone, reach out to someone.

When doubt creeps in, remember that storms pass.

And when you do something good, even when nobody seems to notice, keep doing it. You never know who's watching, learning, or finding the courage to do the same.

We don't have to settle for who we've been just because it's who we've always known. And even when we're doing well, there's always room to grow.

So yes, I've changed. And I will continue to change.

I will be judged. I will be doubted. I might even be misunderstood or avoided. That's okay. Growth isn't always comfortable for the people around us, and not everyone will understand the direction we're going.

I'm not here because I've mastered life. I'm here because I'm committed to becoming the best version of myself, one day at a time.

And if there's one thing I want you to know, it's this:

Let's talk about something that might be a little controversial.

A TFSA is NOT just a savings account.

📈👩🏼‍💻BIG THINGS are happening in our Agency!!

For many reasons we know we’re in the right place at the right time… Why?
Well… Most people are becoming more and more aware about how important it is to start learning what they can about money. And unfortunately, many are cocerned about where they are at financially…and how to get in a better position moving forward!

And then there are others who are becoming more and more aware of how their financial situation is likely going to be changing in the next few years … for the better.

The challenge here, is that if people don’t know who they can trust, that has unbiased professional information…They can feel emotionally and physically stuck. Aka “frozen” 🥶

So what’s the solution?

Maybe changing your life changes more than just you.

Lately I’ve had three unexpected reminders that kindness, generosity and doing the right thing really do matter.

A stranger went out of his way to find us and return my son’s birthday gift. I won a free photo shoot from a local draw after gifting my own gift towards the door prizes. Then I won two Oilers tickets and, when I couldn’t use them, I gave them back to be gifted to someone else.

Coincidence? Maybe.

But after everything I’ve changed in my own life, I can’t help but wonder if there’s something to be said for the energy you put into the world.

Give without expecting. Help when you can. Celebrate other people. Be kind.

You never know what might come back around. ❤️

Last weekend at convention reminded me how much growth happens when you surround yourself with the right people.

For the dreamers, the hard workers, the coachable and those who want more out of life. There’s always a seat left at the table.

People tell me I’m too busy.
And honestly… yeah. My days are FULL.

I’m a busy mom of two boys. There are sports, lessons, groceries, yard work, appointments and all the normal everyday things life throws at you.

But I also make time for the gym.
I make time to read.
I make time for my training and building a new career.

Because I’ve learned that being busy and having no time are not always the same thing.

We all have the same 24 hours.

Sometimes it comes down to what we’re doom scrolling, what we’re binge watching on TV, what we’re saying yes to, and what we’ve decided actually matters to us.

You don’t have to do everything.
You just have to get clear on your priorities.

If something is important to you, find a way to make room for it.

Your time is going somewhere anyway. Make sure it’s going toward the life you actually want. by @laineyjane008
