Peter Piper Huizenga ‘28, a Sociology and Anthropology and French double major, is studying abroad at Université Savoie Mont Blanc in Chambéry, France.

“Before living here, I had never seen a mountain. I was born in the city of Chicago and have lived there since. To get anywhere here, I march up and down minor mountains, with major ones always in view. I clambered around on one myself, clinging to stone and climbing harness, mountains under my hands and the wind on my back.”

Marusya Airumian ‘27, a Philosophy and SOAN double major with a minor in Urban Studies, studied abroad this past semester in São Paulo, Brazil at Fundação Armando Alvares Penteado.

“Brazilians are consistently some of the kindest, most thoughtful, engaged people I’ve encountered, sharing their delicious food, rhythms of music and dance, and always encouraging with my attempts at Portuguese.”
