This week for Flashback Friday, we share the story of Reid's Mistake🧐

The name Reid's Mistake was given to our beloved Lake Macquarie when Captain William Reid accidentally sailed into the lake in 1800 thinking he found the Hunter River.

It wasn't until he returned to Sydney that he realised he'd taken a wrong turn, giving rise to one of our region's most memorable historical names.

NEWK - The John Newcombe Story is a play about one of Australia’s greatest sportsmen.

Written by award-winning playwright Kieran Carroll and performed by Melbourne actor Paul Armstrong, NEWK follows John Newcombe from schoolboy to world No. 1 tennis player.
