A new exhibition at Sugarloaf Studios is opening this Saturday 26 September, showcasing more than 30 artworks from 10 artists challenged with incorporating Mount Sugarloaf, a historic mining suburb, into their works.

For Taylah McDonald, who's six generations of family have lived and loved in West Wallsend, this meant trekking up mountains she has gazed upon since she was born, recovering a suitable piece of fallen timber and spending hours embedding it in resin creating "This is home", which mirrors the mountain's undulations and its iconic peak.

To read more about the exhibition and open day event this weekend, head to the link in our bio.
