The Cottage on Gem Lake continues to evolve with grace and intention. Tucked just out of sight from downtown White Bear Lake, is the raw beauty of Gem Lake. What can’t be experienced here, you must imagine: a chorus of bird calls, insects whizzing in all directions, and quiet splashes at the water’s edge.

This project is truly a gem— and we are quite proud to be the host.

The progress on our Lake Vermilion Retreat continues! This project has been nothing short of a labor of love. We’re grateful for our wonderful clients who make thoughtful selections, and the fabulous team at @chiselarchitecture who continue to partner with us on every detail.

Lakeside does not pass up a good adventure with good people! 🌲

The site visit to our Cottage on Gem Lake was peaceful and breathtaking. Our framing crew was moving at a steady, calm pace — communicating with one another and working together.

It was SO quiet, in fact, that a mother snapping turtle decided it was the perfect place to lay her eggs. 🐢 Your babies are safe with us, mama.

It is with deep gratitude for the clients we’ve served, the homes we’ve built over the past 25 years, our strong industry partnerships, and our reimagined future of building custom lake homes across Northern Minnesota and Western Wisconsin, that we accept the award for Best Custom Home Builder in White Bear Lake for 2026.

Thank you for your support and referrals over the years. We love this industry and will continue to raise the bar wherever the next adventure takes us!

The sound of ice breaking is music to our ears!

Within the next week or two, we should have the green light to trade in the ATV for the pontoon and get back to work on Muskego Point.

The story continues on Lake Vermilion…

As we wait for complete “ice-out”, we are finalizing the sweetest design elements, from tile patterns to whimsical wallpaper patterns.

Between our dear clients, the creative minds at @chiselarchitecture, and our new trade friends in the northern bounds of Minnesota, we are feeling blessed to move energetically into the second semester of this project!

When it comes to lakeside living, the view is the main attraction.

The @kolbewindows Ultra Series in Onyx and Coal Black stole the show on this moody, industrial retreat designed by @bluepencilcollective.

This project is now featured as a full case study with Kolbe Windows & Doors. Click the link in our bio to understand what made the ‘A-Typical Cabin’ feel so inspiring.

From renderings to reality, we uphold design intent.

This requires attention to detail, thorough communication, and an innate desire to create something exceptional.

Taking a pause to celebrate the inviting, yet expansive drone images captured by @alyssaleephotography of a project on Bay Lake we fondly refer to as “The Water Lily.”

Our Gem Lake project continues to take shape over the winter months. ❄️

Winter is a great season for building, because the ground is stable and we can control the humidity within the structure. In fact, we enjoy building in the winter much more than the spring! Rain and mud make for poor building conditions.

There is nothing I love more than people lifting each other up. What a thoughtful gift from the one and only @sunnylbowman and her incredible team at @dakotacountylumber.

To be a woman in a male-dominated industry takes courage and belief in yourself, and I owe it to women like Sunny for welcoming me into this exciting industry that I love so much.

Happy Galentine’s to my fellow women in construction!
