Last weekend to see Roll Out Exhibit at Big Mouth Coffee Roasters!

I have absolutely loved being included in the @roll_out_beacon exhibit @bmc_roasters on Main St in Beacon. Over 100 artists are included in this exhibit including experienced printmakers, 5th grade students, public school teachers, alongside their students work, community members who took a free Roll Out workshop and carved for the first time and so many others. The work is intergenerational and community generated.

It’s amazing how many folks see the work, sit with it for long periods, return to it, comment on it. I love all the photos sent to me of people with their own work. Whenever I’m in there I see folks really looking. Thank you Jason and Big Mouth for opening your space to us!

Honored to have my work included in @bostonprintmakers 2026 North American Print Biennial

I’m really looking forward to the Jurors talk by Esther Adler, Curator at the Museum of Modern Art from 1:00-2:00 and the opening reception 2:00-5:00 on Sept. 26th.

Loved painting this mural in Puerto Rico with @delatierrabotanicals @saperez56 and our kids. What an incredible week with early mornings painting, long afternoons at the beach, dear friends who are familia, incredible food and the magic of this beautiful island. by @lalaadelman

Spending time at Penland was amazing. Being in such a beautiful place where everyone is completely focused on learning the intricacies of one technique is powerful. I met so many incredible people and artists. So many conversations were had while sharing meals, so much art was shared, slides presented, studios visited.

Thank you @kim_bentley for teaching us how to play and experiment with mixed media letterpress. I learned and pushed myself so much.

Thank you @mariannefairbanks for being my art soul sister for over 30 yrs and for the opportunity. Your presence in my life has always been both grounding and expanding and I’m so grateful.

This was exactly what I needed and I’m really excited about where this experience will take me. by @lalaadelman

Honored to have my work exhibited in @garrisonartcenter juried printmaking exhibit: Rooted: Art and the Natural World @desmondfishpubliclibrary This is such a beautiful space and I recommend visiting and checking out all the prints. Libraries and printmaking are all about community, access and sharing knowledge and I loved all the conversations had during the opening. Thanks for including my piece The River Flows Both Ways created for @roll_out_beacon The exhibit is up through October 25th. by @lalaadelman

Lauren Adelman is the first artist to print at my studio in Troy, NY! 🤙 It was lovely to spend the day with her. The woodblock print will be featured @bostonprintmakers Biennial in the Fall. Congrats to Lauren on this accomplishment!

Adelman is visual artist based in Beacon, NY. She has decades of experience in community education with a focus on youth art programs. She’s also one of the founders of @roll_out_beacon an annual event where artists carve large woodblocks and print them with a steamroller. Follow more of her work @lalaadelman

Throw back to printing my 4’x8’ carving @roll_out_beacon in October. Printing this large can only be done in community and I love this one. What an amazing night celebrating 25 years of making Artistic Noise! What started as a weekly workshop with a group of girls who were incarcerated has grown into a program that has, for 25 years, collaborated with, built community, amplified voices and created art with system-impacted young people in so many different spaces.

Minotte Romulus, Francine Sherman and I didn’t know what we were starting back then, we just knew we believed in the power of art to tell stories, build community and create change.

Last Wednesday members of the @artistic_noise family, old and new, gathered @anew_hq to celebrate this milestone year. We were honored to receive a proclamation recognizing this milestone. Thank you @cmcrystalhudson for this honor and for being part of our community for so many years.

It was powerful for me to stand alongside our alumni who are also teaching artists to launch this 25th year. There were so many people there who are a deep part of our history and it felt like a family reunion filled with tears, laughter, hugs, babies, children and so much love.

As our website says, the systems want us to be silent…and that’s why we make Artistic Noise. by @lalaadelman
