@dublab Mix in bio.
My life as a producer, as was the case with many people, started with my grandparents/parents record collection. As Soviet people, almost all of the records in their proverbial crates were Melodiya releases - a state-run label that basically functioned as an artistic monopoly. Generally, Melodiya releases were never, with few exceptions, well regarded in the crate digging world. There was so much mid music and propagandistic shlock to wade through, that my peers gravitated to releases from other Iron Curtain states, like Poland or Czechoslovakia for their samples. I saw that these records were by en large an untapped resource, and almost all of my early music as DJ Alibi was built on their foundation. I didnt return to these records until me and Jay started Lammping and our new album is full of samples of that lost world. @dublab was nice enough to let us do a set of my favorites. @avardwoolaver has been kind enough to let us use his photo of Bloor and Dufferin in the 1980's as our album cover. His photos of old Toronto are a treasure trove and we were grateful to choose one. They are now part of the TPL archive.

Track: "Wasted Nights" from "So What, What?", out November 6.

In 2014 @jandersup was touring with @biblical_band and while driving through New York, a swarm of skaters appeared out of nowhere and the crowd just kept growing and growing.

@theenicksewell had the wherewithall to grab his phone and set it up on his car to film. All these years later, he let us use the footage for the Criminal Against Nature video and we're super grateful.

Still don't quite know what happened and why, but it did and it was rad.

It feels like we've been working on this record from the moment we met. Our love of heavy music, melody and sampling is all put on wax on "So What, What?", out November 6 through @wearebusybodies

The cover and the back photos are by the legend @avardwoolaver who allowed us a trip back into time through his amazing photos of 80's and 90's Toronto, and the drawings are by the dawg @kaganmcleod

We cant wait to share this with the world and will be posting some teasers in the next weeks.
