One thing I’ve learned: inspiration is often closer than we think.

This spring, I’ve been spending my weekends exploring local art, culture, and the creative corners of Los Angeles. There’s something energizing about being surrounded by people who are building, creating, and sharing their perspective with the world.

Whenever I need fresh ideas, I don’t always look farther—I look closer.

Here’s your reminder to get out, explore your city, and see it with fresh eyes. You never know what might spark your next idea, adventure, or chapter. by @lanakkay

One storm changed the fate of more than 1,200 Pasadena trees.

After a devastating windstorm in 2011 brought down hundreds of historic trees—some standing for centuries—architect Chris Peck saw an opportunity to preserve their story rather than let them go to waste.

That vision became Keita Design, where fallen urban wood is transformed into stunning handcrafted furniture. Every piece carries its own character, history, and connection to Southern California.

The craftsmanship is remarkable, but what makes it even more special is knowing each piece was given a second life.

Los Angeles is full of stories like this—creative people turning loss into art, and history into something lasting. Follow along for more hidden gems, inspiring places, and unique stories from around LA. taken in Tierra del Sol Gallery by @lanakkay
