Making a meadow: we’ve spent the past year returning a construction site to a meadow land— re-introducing wildflower seed, fescue, mowing the walking paths, etc. The effect, effortless beauty!

So it begins in full: the edging, the turf tining, mulching, winter pickup. Our crews are excited to be back out in the garden!

The soft moments as the sun starts to rise.
We are all getting geared up for fall and the changing of the tides. This garden makes me remember the beauty of summer and what fall colors are yet to come!

Meadows are an evolution!

A few years ago, we took a tall fescue meadow and cut pollinator strips through out to create seedbanks for native flowers.

We are consistently spot treating the meadow for invasive pressures and undesirables. It is a consistent and evolving plant ecosystem and we love to watch it change!

A really cool site that is a mix of curated plantings and meadow reclamation and establishment. We are tackling areas on a ledge crest with beautiful groupings of comptonia and sedges but large invasive pressures. It’s a process to prioritizing what we want to thrive.

Two irregular patios linked by angular step stones.
We ran grading lines today and then will sod and soften the spaces with native plant material— linking the surrounding woodland to the house.
