My first glimpse of what creativity meant - came in the form of an open mic. Spoken word has always been a part of my artistry. It was only right when I went to write this album (hiatus), that I tapped into this bag. The intro track of my project is called, Home. It’s accompanied by instrumentation and driven by spoken word. Here’s a live - spoken word - rendition of this song. Hiatus is coming your way December. Enjoy this for now 🫶🏾

Hiatus

A lot of my time has been spent in reflection. I could finally see myself when I look in the mirror. The good, the bad, and the ugly. In October of 2023, I stopped putting out music and slowed down posting on social media. My stepdad passed away and he always taught me that hard work meant sacrifice and consistency. I started to put all my time and effort into my work instead of my creativity. I’m scaling the corporate ladder and as I do so I realize a huge part of myself is missing. I plan to finally drop my project in December 2026. It will detail all of the emotions I’ve experienced through my time off. I’m grateful that I know I’m not a slave to enjoyment. I have been able to allow myself to feel grief and be depressed. It’s almost time to pop out and I hope y’all are ready for a new era with me. Much love and more peace to all. Thank you for being patient with me. taken in Conestoga Ranch by @langiolason

This was getting enough love on my story for me to post it here. I wrote this after watching that episode of love island where they met their partners parents and I realized no one will ever meet my parent’s 🥲. Inspired by the sounds of the SWAG album, so basically I’m cosplaying mk.ghee. by @langiolason

We did this project back in 2021. My interpretation of media day meets GQ sports meets culture 🇹🇴. Meet the Fotu brothers - Kiwi Tongan basketball players currently playing professionally in Japan and NZ. A huge shoutout to everyone that made this happen! This the kind of content I want to produce for athletes 🔥 one step closer to my dreams 🙏🏽

@bobbybmac laid this verse for me back in July 2023. The last thing I dropped was The Closure EP on December 31, 2023. When I lost my stepdad, I stopped releasing music. His life revolved around his work, and I still remember his advice every time we talked about life: “Find a job. It can be anything - and work hard at it. Just put your head down and work.”

Since he passed, that’s exactly what I’ve done. I put music on the back burner to build my career in IT. Now, after a two-year hiatus, I’m finally finding space to bring music back into focus. The project I’ve been working on tells the story of everything I’ve been through while music took a back seat.

This is my first unofficial-official drop back - a remix of a song I already released called Missed Calls. It’s exclusive to SoundCloud, so click on the link in my bio if you want to check it out. Bobby killed the verse, as always.

I’m so excited to be sharing music again. I hope you’re ready.

Closing out chapter 31 and turning the page to 32. My 30s, even in just two years, have become my favorite chapter so far. There’s a different level of clarity and confidence that comes with age, and I’m finally settling into it.
I feel grounded in my career in a way I never have before. I’m focused, steady, and motivated by the direction things are heading. I’ve been more intentional about where I put my time and energy, and it’s made my life feel a lot more balanced.
This year I traveled to three new countries, saw more of the world, and reminded myself how important it is to step outside of the usual routine. Those trips helped me reset, reflect, and refuel.
I’ve learned a lot about myself too - what I value, what I’m willing to work for, and what I’m no longer willing to carry. I strengthened connections that feel good and let go of a few things that didn’t. It’s been a year of simplifying, refocusing, and choosing what feels right for me.
31 was a solid year. Steady, growing, and full of good moments.
32 feels like it’s going to build on all of that. More experiences, more intention, and more of the life I’m shaping for myself.
Here’s to the next chapter. by @langiolason

When I first started making music, I struggled to figure out what my artist name should be. My full name: Kaliopasi Fakatou Vaitai - represents my father’s family with pride, but my mom played the most integral role in shaping who I am, both as a person and now as an artist.

My dad left when I was about ten, and my mom raised us as a single mother in California until she met my stepdad. Through all of it, she was our voice, our foundation, and our strength. It only made sense that I find a way to honor her life and legacy through the music.

Then one day, as I was thinking about who I was and what name to go by, I remembered how my mom was always the one who spoke for us at family events. Whenever people would ask me who I was, I’d proudly reply, “I’m Langiola’s son!” That was always my way of letting everyone know who raised me - so it was only right that I carried that name forward.

Twelve years ago today, I lost the mortal version of my mom, but her legacy continues to live through me and my siblings. When @etuszn reached out and asked me to write this verse (as a new artist in the island music scene) I saw it as the perfect opportunity to remind everyone: I’m still Langiola’s Son.
