Grateful to share this space with the dynamic and wise Kimberly as we reflect on our experience at my April retreat and so much more.

We navigate paying attention, quieting our busy minds, following the magic and being in relationship with ourselves so we can teach those around us to do the same.

I offer some of my greatest lessons and practices.

From motherhood and parenthood to marriage and the wonder that children instill in us adults, my time in the episode felt so full and I am so grateful to share it with the wise, dynamic and brave Kimberly Hand.

Something must be wrong with me…

When the external world doesn’t necessarily match, what we are experiencing sometimes I have felt like if nothing’s or no one is noticing or no one else is having this experience maybe it is just me…

The world tells us all the time, don’t feel this, don’t feel that, don’t think this…

What happened to you isn’t that bad…

What happened to you happened because maybe you wanted it to happen…

And maybe some of that is true because I BELIEVE it for myself.

Maybe I believe that yes, something must be wrong with me…

Just noticing this.

COSTUME SERIES, FRANKENSTEIN // Lani Scozzari is giving us a behind-the-scenes look at the spooky “Shadow” costumes in Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein.

What makes these costumes unique is that each one features a slightly different pattern and style, yet they will ultimately appear cohesive onstage thanks to a special dyeing process.

Sometimes the most lovely parts of ourselves take over and then they aren’t quite so lovely anymore…

The helper and me is in its essence, one of my favorite qualities about myself however, I also know that if that’s in charge of me, I end up giving so much and helping so much the other people around me don’t want my help and I step on their experiences

And then the other thing that happens is that if the helper part of me is in charge of myself, I end up giving and giving and giving and then occasionally parentheses from past experiences.) I become resentful because I have nothing left for myself and I wonder, “who is helping me? “

Paying attention…welcoming new clients to join my fall retreats and workshops. I love practicing with you.

How we must care for ourselves and be fully available to them is a wild, almost impossible scenario…We give and give and give and then give more.

In every way, work harder, cook more, all the decisions and all the hoping and figuring out. And it doesn’t end, it shifts though doesn’t end.

If I had to give one piece of advice to myself or any other, keep giving to yourself, take the time for understanding yourself. Go to the healing retreat, go for the run, go find yourself a community (even if it’s just one person) that can see you and help you give space to who YOU are.

It matters because at the end of the day, I have myself and myself only and without myself I cannot show up for my girls in the ways I desire.

While my children navigate the sometimes dark crevices life has to offer, I too, navigate with them.

For myself and for them and for all the mothers who know how it feels to hold a crying child in your arms at all hours of the day or night as they wish life could be different, life could be easier.

This is the work, I remind myself. And sometimes, if only for a moment, your child will feel as if they belong and there is beauty and good in this world right alongside them.

It’s always the best reminder and self check for me when I teach something.
I teach because I am always practicing and I am always learning and remembering.

I am not an expert on anyone else. Happiness is not a fixed state.

The deep moment of intense joy strung together like dew drops on a golden spiderweb, glistening out there.

Sometimes visible. Other times impossible to see or feel. But there.
