Andy Fedewa and Bryan Dryer of the City of Lansing shared insights into zoning, planning, and the development process.

SEED Academy alum Re'Shane Lonzo of Lonzo Development Group discussed her journey developing The Iris, while Connor Zook of Triterra covered environmental due diligence and brownfield redevelopment.

Julius Edwards and Rachel Elsinga of MEDC joined Lansing EDC's Amiee Evans to discuss the importance of partnerships and relationships in development, and Melissa Hall and Brent Forsberg shared their experiences as developers in Lansing.

Last week, we welcomed Cohort 3 of the Lansing SEED Academy, bringing together emerging real estate developers ready to turn ideas into meaningful investments in our neighborhoods.

Participants will build the skills and knowledge needed to move development projects from concept to reality, through hands-on training, mentorship, and professional connections.

We're excited to support this newest cohort as they help shape Lansing's future! 🌱

“SEED Academy gave me a better understanding of development and helped me see my project through a different lens. One of my biggest takeaways was learning how important it is to slow down and take the time to build a complete and accurate pro forma because it truly is the financial roadmap for the project. I also gained a much stronger understanding of capital stacking and how different sources can work together to move a project forward. I’m grateful for what I learned and know I will continue using these lessons as I develop 108–110 S. MLK, the Moon House project.”
