Good morning! 💕Good day ✨ I had so much fun skiing ballet last week. (The best part was the people I met—including @skithewongway OMG 🩷) ~ There’s definite joy in doing what you love—no matter what. ~ I hope you find joy today!✨

Which trick is your favorite? The first - a knee spin - is one of mine. 💕 Missing @zermatt.matterhorn this morning and can’t wait to get back on snow. ✨🪩

Rockstar! Literally. One of the biggest joys on this last trip was meeting @dylan_walczyk and teaching him some ballet moves. Dylan is a mogul skier on the U.S. Freestyle Ski Team and picked things up *fast. Here, he’s learning a one-pole cartwheel which he nailed after just a couple tries. (On long boards!) I can’t wait to share more. Cheer Dylan on this season and follow him and @steezyjoenetwork for mogul skiing tips! ~

PS: Freestyle was once moguls, ballet, and aerials and most of us were ‘combined’ skiers back in the day, skiing all three disciplines. Anytime I meet a fellow freestyler it feels like meeting family. 🩷

A little vintage (and proof I’m a human) for your algorithm 🤗. I was talking with a new partner (I’m super excited about, for the season) this morning about ballet skiing and we thought it was funny that I’ve been the U.S. Champ for 26 years now and counting. 😂 (In all honesty it’s a bummer what happened with ski ballet, also then called Acro. It’s such a cool sport which is why I’ve been keeping it going.) This is a clip from my winning run at the 2000 U.S. National Freestyle Championships, which was the sport’s last official event. (Ian Edmondson won for the men.) Also this morning, which is why I wanted to post this in the first place: I received more comments that I’m, um, not human. So let this be proof that I am! 🤗 Haha. I’m 100% real and my skiing is, as well. 🪩⛷️

My music: Patti Page (footage) ✨

Could we ever channel Dolly? 🩷 Thinking about Dolly Parton and pouring myself a cup of ambition today…☕️✨ by @larafayerose

I’m heartbroken about Dolly Parton’s passing. She was so other worldly, it almost seemed she’d live forever. 🦋 She stood for everything good. Thank you, Dolly, for making our world brighter. 💕

PS: These clips are from the season before last. I wanted to find something pink for Dolly.💕 by @larafayerose

I was talking with a freestyle friend this morning about how ballet skiing is a perfect way to feel alive. Believe me: I like to ski fast. There’s nothing like it and the feeling of flying while riding the control of an edge—out in the mountain sunshine, no less is the closest to freedom you can get. But with ballet skiing, you can also be creative so for me, it’s my favorite form of expression. ✨I love how I can set it to music, too. I skied to this song once before and someone called me a fairy sprite. 🧚‍♂️I’ll take it.
Anyway: I got good news from the doctor last week and I should be ready for snow in December. I’m working hard with my knee rehab and things are on track.😅
It’s 100F right now where I am, so I’m sharing this winter sunshine. It’s currently where my head is at. 💕✨⛷️

Is it alright if I’m here today? In my mind, in Verbier, wearing @holzweiler ✨⛷️

Another favorite spin…💕✨ It’s been fun watching the @olympics , cheering on friends and being part of the excitement. I love how sports can bring everyone together through the best of humanity: love, joy, commitment, drive, and dreams. ✨🏔️

Yesterday I went to see Dr. Elrod at @elite_ortho for a check-up and I saw they put the ‘vintage’ @usskiteam poster I’d signed up front and center by the desk! Proud to represent 😅 here in Nashville. In all seriousness: I’m so grateful for Dr. Elrod’s care. Apparently my injury was “very bad,” and my new ACL is strong. I’m still tracking for a return to snow this coming winter, and am looking forward to it! ⛷️✨Thanks again, Dr. Elrod & Elite.

The world’s felt pretty heavy (unbelievable) lately. For that I don’t have words. But I’ve been thinking of what I can do, and also, what I’m grateful for. This was fun: a spin on an old spin. Let’s call this: Having fun in Deer Valley. ❄️☀️ Be kind. Be grateful. Keep loving unconditionally. ~ 🩷
