Hi! If you’re new, my name is Larkin Bryne, and I write dark MM romance. I have recently made a bit of a genre pivot, and I wanted to create a pinned post to clear things up a bit and answer some FAQs🖤

💬 When is your next release?
A: (Hopefully) very soon! I am working on several projects, so I should have a few more books out before the end of the year! Stay tuned😈

💬 Where can I read your books?
A: Kindle Unlimited and Amazon!

💬 Is the second Petrichor book about Jesse and Ward?
A: Yes!

💬 Does Orchard Keeper end on a cliffhanger?
A: No! It ends with a satisfying HFN and the next book will be HEA.

💬Is Orchard Keeper dark romance?
A: I would say that book 1 sort of teeters on dark romance. There’s definitely some power imbalance. I think it’s better described as a gothic/horror romance.

💬 What do you mean by ‘genre pivot’?
A: I started my author career writing literary horror and literary horror romance. I still really love that genre, and I fully intend to come back to horror at some point, but for now, I am committed to using my Larkin pen name for dark mm romance.

💬 Why are you changing genres?
A: The very short answer is that dark romance is very fun and cathartic to write! I have found a lot of unexpected joy here!

💬 What about Bloody Aubade? Are you going to continue the HOF series?
A: At some point, yes!

💬 Did you de-list Bloody Aubade?
A: No! I don’t have it on my site at the moment, but you can still find Bloody Aubade on Amazon.

💬 What does that mean for Angel of Hunger? (Formerly titled Haniel)
A: Angel of Hunger is a dark paranormal romance, so I will be releasing it under this pen name as planned!

💬 Do you write exclusively cis pairings?

I had the pleasure of once again working with @larkinbryne to create the cover for their latest work: Orchard Born.
I'm so excited to read the next installment and to see what happens to Jesse and Ward 👀🍂

Four months ago, Jesse Vale made the decision to stay at Guillory Farms and help Ward, his employer, through busy season. Now, for the first time in his life, Jesse feels a sense of belonging. He feels it as he works in the orchard beneath an easy, cool breeze. He feels it in the crisp smell of cider wafting through the hallways of his new home. And while Jesse does not have a name for the connection that binds him to Ward, he feels it in Ward’s hands too—rough and weathered, but tender against his bare skin.

Life is almost perfect. There is only one thing Jesse cannot seem to shake: a sickness that found him somewhere in the hazy months between June and October. Something that grows stronger every night. Something violent enough to tear him from sleep. Jesse means to keep it from Ward, convinced it will fade if he ignores it long enough. But when he wakes in a hospital bed, he learns the truth: the orchard knows his truest desire. The sickness is a gift, and he is far from the first to receive it. by @larkinbryne

Orchard Born is the companion to Orchard Keeper. Both are horror romance, but Orchard Born is a little softer, a little more cozy, and a little more self indulgent lol. While this book could be read as a standalone, I’d very much suggest starting with Orchard Keeper to get the full picture!
