Today we celebrate @las_bestgoth Birthday! If you are lucky enough to know Caitlin, you know that she isn’t just the best dressed person in the room (trust me, she is), she’s also the kindest, most pure of heart and wildly hilarious person you may ever meet. She is deeply caring and sensitive, constantly thinking of others around her and actually acting on those thoughts. She feels and lives life with a dynamic fervor that amplifies the experience of everyone around her. She creates community in everything she does. She makes me laugh every day (deeply) and makes me want to be a better person. I love our life together. Also, what a smoke-show, I mean, come on, look at these pictures. Happy Birthday Caitlin! I love you so much!! 💖 taken in Los Angeles, California by @las_bestgoth

Happy 40th birthday to my dearest, sweetest love. To know Riley is to love Riley, anyone who knows him knows that. When we first started getting to know each other we loved talking so much that we would text for hours straight, so much so that our thumbs were actually always tired. But in such a morally bankrupt world and with a dating history so spooky, I thought “there’s no way this hot dude who is 6’7” is actually good??” But it turns out, Riley is actually just so good. He is so steady, so pure, a force of softness, a real life gentle giant. He’s so good I’ve written poems about him ok??? The way he sees things is so beautiful, I’m like “damn what the hell? How can you just accept the nature and grief of life with such ease???” Which probably has something to do with Riley being an ancient fairy deity, who has lived many 100s of lives. Also he’s just really hot which makes you an incredibly chill person.

Riley, my love. Look at all the things you did JUST this year!!! You played shows to crowds of 1,000, you went on a successful tour with a band you love and met young people who see themselves in you, you created art that was shown in museums!!!, we went on road trips and saw New Mexico, the Grand Canyon and stayed in Dennis Hoppers old movie theater in Taos, we let Nova fully take over our bed despite being a piss paw boy, we celebrated so many firsts, you saw the podcast connect with more and more people, you made so much music, we went back to Mexico and you bought a surely haunted 500 year old flute, you played with your nephews, you started painting again, you learned new hobbies, new instruments and new facts and we started making big plans to live out our dream lives!!

In such scary and heartbreaking times, it can be easy to dismiss a birthday as something frivolous, but there is nothing worth celebrating more in this world than someone as special as Riley. This life with you is precious. Here’s to your next decade, May it be filled with even more friendship, pure love, seeing the world and making art above all else. EVERYONE SAY HAPPY BIRTHDAY RILEY!!!! by @las_bestgoth

It is now officially 3 days late but we were too busy celebrating and laughing and being cozy. Happy (belated) birthday to the most beautiful man I’ve ever known.

You are a gorgeous sexy lyrical alien from some pure untouched planet. Everyone who is lucky to call you a friend has a story about how your friendship lifted them up in a moment of darkness or stress. The ways in which you are magical and funny are too many to count. You wear heels just as well as you clean mud and sticks out of our creek. You are smart, inquisitive, ever learning, ever growing, but above all else you are just truly so kind which is a rarity in this world. Every time you pick up an instrument, I am left spell bound but you tell me “it’s nothing.” Being friends with you was my favorite thing ever, second only to being your partner. You have the best stories but you always make room to listen to others and to the universe as it unfolds around you.

I am so in love with all that you are and I think there should be a whole month to celebrate JUST you, my sexy, cool, pretty, silly goose, music man love stud. Cheers to another year of growth, love, travel, milestones, creating, laughing and above all else: jet skis 💖✨🎉🎂🥳😘🎈🎊🎁 by @las_bestgoth
