Father’s Day is complicated for me.

I lost my dad to cancer years ago, and no matter how much time passes, there are still moments when I wish I could pick up the phone and call him.

One thing I’m especially grateful for, though, are my brothers. Watching them raise their families has given me a front-row seat to what great fatherhood looks like. They love their kids, show up every day, and somehow make it all look easier than it is.

So when @florsheimshoes reached out and asked me to recognize a few dads for Father’s Day, choosing them was easy.

A pair of shoes isn’t much compared to everything they do, but I loved having the chance to celebrate two men I admire and love. I think my dad would be pretty proud of the fathers they’ve become.

Happy Father’s Day to all the dads, father figures, mentors, brothers, and friends who help shape the people around them for the better.
