Three weeks post-surgery, and…

I’m feeling so much better, and lately I’ve been really trying to educate myself on what I can do to feel better, live healthier, and take better care of my body. And you know what it all keeps coming back to? FOOD!

One thing I’ve realized is how much we’ve gotten used to all the extra junk in our food. Excuse my French, but take all that shit out, and some things taste like straight-up garbage! 😂 Even my favorite chai without all the extras has me questioning why I’d spend money on it!

Watching the Chicago Marathon this weekend was another reminder of how important it is to prioritize our health.

I’m not sharing this to preach or pretend I have it figured out. I’m sharing because sometimes life forces us to slow down and pay attention to things we’ve taken for granted.

Small changes today can make a big difference tomorrow. Our health is truly our wealth! ❤️🌱 by @latinaone33

I was talking to my friends and Family the other day and I said how many years ago after the loss of my daughter all I wanted to do was die and now here I am fighting to live. This has been a week of crazy emotions but I want to thank everyone who prayed with me, for me, took me for a walk, cried with me, laughed with me, bought me fruit baskets and most of all my hubby who has had to carry my heavy emotions the last few months and has never left my side. Well definitely not the outcome I anticipated but got the call that I actually had stage 3 cancer so my treatment is not done yet!

So this year if I say no to you it’s not personal it’s PERSONAL…
Stop waiting for the right time…
Stop holding on to grudges…
Stop waiting to live, love and forgive because you just never know 😭
Stop telling people they’re strong and just be present because only he knows their troubles 🙏🏽

But most of all take care of you…who would of known a random emergency room visit would lead to all this… my body was already telling me something was wrong 😞

Sitting here bored, out of my mind has made me think about some things that I wanna do. We are literally down to the last 100 days of the year, if anything this has made me reflect on life in general and things that I always dreamed about doing, but just somehow put off. Therefore, as soon as I get doctors clearance, I will be hosting a Friendsgiving of sorts with a twist if you’re interested in info, let me know. I will post a flyer later, but the gist of it is I’m looking for my community women this last year has made me think about lots of things we can speak about later, but just know that if you’re looking for a community, I want you right here with me 💕 #lacoshecha by @latinaone33

My grandbaby makes fun of me with my #HeavyOnTheGratitude but man it’s one thing I have to look for in every situation. These last few days have been rough especially after the pain meds wore off super grateful to my hubby and my kids who’ve been here the last few days but if I can say I took one thing away is this.. teach them the important stuff like getting healthy, eating better because this surgery at my age was no joke 😭 by @latinaone33
