6 down, 1 to go... The final stretch to close on my 7 continents marathon goal which is now a 12 year long and counting adventure that finally deserves a recap as I think I'm committed now. 🤔

1️⃣ 2014 Marathon du Medoc, France - My 1st marathon, in costume, with 23 wine stops for hydration. My friend and I agreed to run the first 5 miles wine free after which my body immediately filed a formal complaint against me until I hobbled with my destroyed stomach across the finish in 6:45. 🤢🍷😂

2️⃣ 2018 Patagonian Int'l Marathon, Chile - Still my favorite race to date only because it's been the smallest race with 147 other crazies running against intense winds and up endless mountains. Shattered my PR by 1h51m with a 4:54 - apparently I run faster when there’s no wine involved.

3️⃣ 2023 Sanlam Cape Town Marathon, South Africa - Arrived fresh off a 3rd place AG finish at my first 70.3 half distance triathlon 🤩, then got a stomach bug the day before the race but woke up fine. At mile 16, I caught up to my friend who was struggling and decided to accompany her, sharing my salt tabs with her, until we both crossed the finish line for a 4:39. 👯‍♀️

4️⃣ 2024 TCS NYC Marathon - The year I finally stopped obsessing over the lottery, forgot I’d entered, and had already paid for Toronto. Two marathons in two weeks, Toronto in 3:50, NYC in 3:53. 💪

5️⃣ 2025 TCS Sydney Marathon, Australia - Took 5 weeks off mid-training for severe PF, cycled 500 miles as a “recovery” plan, then acted surprised when my left quad cramped at mile 17. First-ever med tent visit. Painfully finished in 4:01 against the beautiful Sydney Opera house but the narrowest finish line for the size of the race.

6️⃣ 2026 Tokyo Marathon, Japan - A shiny PR of 3:44 for continent 6, marathon 10, and the 3rd marathon within 6 months. That’s a 3-hour glow-up from a wine-soaked 6:45 debut. Tokyo, you delivered but I still hated the wall I hit at mile 20 and the 1km cobblestone road before the 100m finish. 💥

3rd time's a charm! PR'd by 5m 23s finishing in 3:44 on a hot, sunny day and after a tough training cycle with persistent plantar fasciitis and left quad issues for 3.5 marathons (+ century ride) in 6 months. While it felt good to redeem myself with a new PR given the mediocre performances at the last 2 marathons, it was another mental struggle bus from mile 20+ and I'm pretty sure the only sightseeing I did was agonizing over the sea of never ending runners and amazed at how clean the streets were. by @latracia

Happy 3rd birthday Juno, my little adventure puppy!! ❤️

On a separate note, impressed by Target's party decorations (didn't read how large the 3 balloon was before buying it) and tried a new dog cake recipe without flour (Juno approves!). by @latracia

SUP pup milestone: stood up on the board with Juno! 🐾 She did fall into the lake from the kayak first but that’s just called a warm up. Or a wake up call. Either way it worked — girl was BALANCED after that 😂🌊. by @latracia
