🎉 I am thrilled to announce that I am now represented by the fabulous Anjanette Barr of Dunham Literary! 🎉 She and I will be taking my YA Fantasy novel on submission soon. I am beyond grateful to take this next step in my journey as an author. 😊

Three things you didn’t know about THE THREE FATES:

1. They appear either 3 or 7 days after the birth of every human child (depending on the myth) to determine the course of their life. 👶

2. Even the gods feared them. ⚡️

3. They are not accurately portrayed in the Disney Hercules movie. 🚫

The Three Fates are main characters in my book, The Past is Prologue, and I can’t wait for you to meet my version of them. ✨

What else do you want to know about them?

A little more about my YA Fantasy book. It’s a love letter to Greek mythology and Shakespeare, combined with the coziness of tea, sewing, and books. It will be going on sub soon. Here’s hoping it finds the right home. 🏛️🎭🫖🧵📚

The reread struggle is real. I love being back in this world, but I should have started sooner. 🧡🖤🔥

It’s going to be close.

❓Anybody here with me?

It’s that time of year… 🍂

There’s nothing better than a rainy fall day to cuddle up with a book.

❓What are you reading?

I LOVE when the second book in a series forces me to rethink everything I THOUGHT I knew from book one.

Rites of the Starling by @devneyperry does this SO WELL. 🖤

It’s the best dual POV book I’ve read in a long time for this reason. It really kept me guessing.

The final book comes out in March, and I cannot wait!

Have you read it? Let’s discuss! 😭

My Odyssey Summer 🌊🏛️📖

I have loved Odysseus’ story since I discovered it as a child. I have revisited it many times throughout my life. I read it for fun as a geeky teenager. I studied it through a scholarly lens as an English major in college. As a mother, I recited it as bedtime stories to my children. As a teacher, I’ve taught it hoping to elicit the same wonder I felt the first time.

And for the last few years I’ve been re-reading it as research for the books I’m writing. (Of course, Odysseus makes an appearance in my story too.)

All this is to say, that I am INVESTED in this upcoming film by Christopher Nolan. I am excited to see it, but I’m also terrified it’s not going to live up the epic expectations that come along with adapting such a timeless work of art. Either way, it’s inspiring to see a story that was once only embraced by geeks and scholars being heralded out into in the real world.

(A special shoutout to @the.moonflower.reader for inspiring this post. 🙌🏻)

❓Any thoughts going into the film?

Wow, what a book! 🌎🔭

Atmosphere by Taylor Jenkins Reid is brilliant and beautiful. This book made me think, learn, wonder, smile, sweat, and cry. It’s historical fiction based on the first female astronauts admitted to NASA in the 1980s. But it’s so much more than that too.

I listened to the audio, and the dual narrators were excellent.

I know I’m late to the party on this one, but I’m so glad I revisited my old TBR and found it.

❓Have you read it? I’d love to discuss.

We recently reconfigured the house to give the kids their own bedrooms, so I lost my study. I’ve been trying to create a cozy, inviting space to write elsewhere. It’s coming along…

Where do you write (or read) to get inspiration?
