10/10 race experience at @highlandsgravel @ucigravelworldseries . The course was stunning, the temps were perfect and company, even better. I lined up with less race angst (3 races in 3 weeks is helpful for that!) and was excited since the 67 mile distance that often allows for a super dynamic race.

@jzrinehart @crystaljanthony and I broke from the elite women’s group early (separate race start was so peaceful and safe) and worked together throughout the course, each of us pushing where it played to our strengths. My legs felt strong and this was a day where I felt I was shredding the descents with confidence.

Our race turned up a notch with just about 10 miles to go on a KILLER steep climb. @crystaljanthony made a little gap, I had a small gap on Jenna. As we crested, Jenna (relentlessly fierce), bridged back and started to power on the flats. I ran out of steam and was totally gassed and in a moment I was popped!

Each of us chased each other solo for the final 10 miles. Jenna had Crystal in sight and I just motored as hard as I could. Congrats to Crystal on the W! Not sure if Worlds will be in the cards this year, but earning a spot makes me hopeful I might get to line up in the Netherlands this fall. I can’t think about that yet, a few more important races on tap! taken in Goshen, Arkansas by @lauracameronking

I can see Ibiza from this lookout, and it’s reminding me of the island’s chic, fashion-forward backdrop. As the song goes, ā€˜Ibiza’s where we find our vibe,’ and it looks like that vibe is rubbing off on me as I’m excited to announce my new partnership with @assosofswitzerland —a brand that elevates cycling apparel to something more. šŸ™Œ

Proud to work with a company that not only understands what women need on the bike but also brings precision, function, and style together. Living and training in Vermont means riding through it all—crisp mornings, humid climbs, sudden downpours, and frigid descents. When a brand is born in Switzerland—where the mountains throw every kind of weather at you—it makes sense that their gear is built to handle anything.

My new favorites? The Dyora bib shorts in Edge Green and Secret Blue—because speed and style should go hand in hand. šŸ’ššŸ’™ And if you haven’t checked out the new spring colorway, it’s worth a look.

It was amazing to test out all the new gear for spring during our ā€œSpring Forwardā€ trip to Spain—the perfect place to push the limits. I can attest that these bibs were 100% comfy during all the long rides of the training week.

Here’s to riding stronger, feeling better, and wearing kit that’s as refined as the ride itself. šŸš“ā€ā™€ļø #AssosWomen #AllSeasonCycling #SwissPrecisionā€ taken in Calpe - Costa Blanca, Spain by @lauracameronking

Hi, welcome to Bentonville, we live here now. I couldn’t skip ā€œthe Sugarsā€ when it’s the most eventful two weeks of our community and we get to be HOME. It was two weeks of impromptu rides, dinners, pop ins—I loved every minute.

Little Sugar didn’t go as hoped with my 🤮 issues rearing their ugly head (if you have followed me, you know this is a 20+ year long issue that is not related to my nutrition, training, etc, but it’s debilitating when it happens). This was a first to have it happen only 3 hours into a race, but after my Unbound hospital visit, I vowed to no longer ā€œkeep racingā€ while violently being sick.

Of course my confidence was rocked for the following weekend’s Big Sugar, but thankfully the temps were rocked too and plummeted to temps that my body LOVES. Night and day difference in how my stomach felt and how wonderfully spunky my legs felt. I always can see room for improvement, but I pushed all day when I had company and had no company and I’m really satisfied with my effort. The course was so primo and deliciously tacky. Hooray!

I could’ve raced zero miles and this past two weeks would’ve been soul filling, but I’m happy to have lined up and enjoyed being inspired and pushed by so many fast women out there!

Big Sugar Gravel did not disappoint. As the race approached, the temps droppedĀ and at the start we were in the low 40s.

There was a full-on rush to get warm kit and those without had to work hard to raise the body temp. taken in Bentonville, Arkansas by @lauracameronking

That went about as well as I could have hoped! 🤠

Now calling Bentonville home, I wanted to take the crown back here in my hometown @arhighcountryrace race. It was touch towards the end, whether I could retake the FKT, but 1,024 miles and 4 days 8 hours and 58 minutes later, I grabbed it back by just 27 minutes! Yeeeehaw.

A tale of 2 Gravel Nationals:

2025: home base in Vermont all summer, a Colorado altitude camp, a hard tune-up race 3 weeks out.

2026: sold, bought and packed a house and semi moving truck, a month training off a porch on a Maine island, a family move to Bentonville in August. No camp. No tune-up race.

5.9 rides per week vs 6.7 per week in 2025 in the 11 week lead up. I tried my best to show up, but the adjustment to heat training has also caused alterations.

Race day: nearly identical power and HR (140 vs 142bpm) to last year — on a longer course, at an almost identical speed. I rode the last 20 miles solo.

Also true, and not new this year: I don’t chase descents like I used to and I have paid for it the past few years with a lot of chasing. That’s been a slow call over the last couple seasons — kids at home changed my risk/reward math, and I’m at peace with that trade although I’m putting on the widest tires I can for @bigsugarclassic (!).

The moral: you don’t need the ideal build to show up and give a full effort. Consistency survives disruption even when specificity doesn’t. And the ā€œoptimalā€ version of any pursuit is going to keep shifting as your life does — the work is adjusting the definition of a good result, not abandoning the pursuit. Whatever you’re juggling this season, showing up counts for more than showing up perfectly.

Thanks to @eric_sammuli for the coaching and on course support! And @willismcgee123 for the feed zone support too.

P15 elite at Gravel Nationals today šŸ‡ŗšŸ‡ø (same as last year despite life’s recent training disruptions, so I’ll call that acceptable!). The Driftless region is such a beautiful and underrated spot. More later, we have a plane to catch! Also, I’m tired.

It’s been a couple month racing hiatus! Spending July training on the porch (island life) in Maine and moving to another state has presented a few training hiccups but the consistency has been there. Regardless, life is full and spending a weekend finding the race legs again alongside @iamtedking is a privilege. Thanks to my mom for graciously watching the kids—it’s a little weekend getaway. Gravel Nationals on tap, tomorrow morning. šŸ‡ŗšŸ‡ø

Hazel’s first triathlon. I couldn’t believe the hundreds of kids at this event! It was amazing—there were full on tri teams. Hazel knew a couple kids racing and decided she wanted to sign up. She already asked when she can do another. taken in Bentonville, Arkansas by @lauracameronking

Moving from Vermont to Arkansas in August has been a lesson in respecting the heat. I’m learning to roll out at sunrise, choose shady routes and never pass up a good swimming hole.

It has also made me pay closer attention to how my gear manages heat and sweat. The @kavhelmets Silvo uses a 3D printed structure that cools two times faster and wicks moisture eight times better than standard EPS foam, all in a lower profile helmet with a Virginia Tech 5 Star rating.

A helmet designed for the heat. Creek jump still highly encouraged. šŸ’¦ by @lauracameronking
