This introductory community workshop offers an engaging entry point into Flamenco as both a cultural practice and a musical form. Led by dancer and educator Laura Peralta, participants will explore the foundations of Flamenco through simple movement patterns, percussive footwork, and an introduction to core rhythms and melodic structures.

Historical and cultural context will be woven throughout the class, helping to demystify the form while grounding the movement in its musical origins. No prior experience is necessary. Participants are encouraged to wear comfortable shoes and come ready to move, listen, and explore.

It’s happening! 💃🏾 ENTRE LÍNEAS is my first production as an independent artist. It explores the nuanced relationship between tradition and self-expression in Flamenco, delving into issues of identity and otherness. It’s a personal narrative, reflecting on how flamenco's symbols and archetypes can be both restrictive and empowering as conduits for self-expression, emboldening the parts of ourselves that we struggle to reveal.
