It’s LFP’s birthday 🎂! Year 17 has officially begun, which feels both surreal and deeply grounding. That oh so nervous college student, sitting in her apartment pressing “live” on her first website, is still inside of me and I’m thankful to her always 🫶

There are also a few exciting things unfolding behind the scenes… beautiful connections, projects and a big summer adventure I can’t wait to share more about soon.

Feeling incredibly humbled for every year I get to grow into this work. Very much in my skin this season. Grateful and grounded, but also ready to fly further 🪽 Let’s go together? xo, L

Kevin & Brian’s wedding celebration at Manhattan’s iconic The Pool and The Grill. They were inspired by the Seagram building’s architecture designed by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe and the restaurant designed by Philip Johnson, two of the biggest figures in modernist architecture and design. They wanted the sleek architecture of the venue and the surrounding artwork to speak for itself while enhancing the space with simplistic ikebana driven floral design. As guests made their way to the dance floor, Artie Shaw’s “Begin The Beguine” played for Kevin and Brian’s special joint Mother Son dance.

Wedding Wednesday! 🎀 Let’s talk cake design!

We pinned SO many cake photos for inspiration during the planning process. The wedding cake is such a fun way to tie in the decor and design elements and, quite literally, tie everything up in a pretty bow. 🎀

When we sat down with the “cake lady,” we knew we wanted to incorporate a big bow on the cake - a nod to the beautiful bow detail on Abby’s dress. She also had tiny bows scattered throughout her veil, so it felt like the perfect detail to carry through.

And boy, did our cake lady not disappoint! From a simple sketch, the design came to life beautifully.

We debated a ribbon bow versus a bow made from fondant icing, and in the end, we chose a satin bow - the perfect finishing touch.

There are SO many decisions when planning a wedding, but cake tasting? That’s one of the fun ones! 🤍🎂

Abby always knew she wanted to get married near the water. After some of the hardest years of her life, she and Christopher stood there together, with the people they love gathered around them.

I keep thinking about how much hope this day held long before it arrived. They had imagined it, planned for it, and held onto it through a season that asked so much of them, and their families. And then, at last, they got to live it: vows by the water, a tent full of their people, and a celebration that felt like everyone’s joy spilling over at once. Truly a night no one will forget!

Abby and Christopher, what an honor to witness this day! Here’s to two people who deserve all the love that surrounded them and more! 🥂 🤍

Abby + Christopher | This year asked a lot of the Cole and Ayers families. Saturday, wedding day, it gave something back. Watching A + C say their vows, surrounded by everyone who prayed them through the hard days, was proof that joy on the other side of struggle hits different — deeper, fuller, harder to hold back tears for. What a family. What a day. What a couple. What a room full of love. This one, I got to feel. Thank you for letting me in.

Abby + Christopher | Some nights you can just feel how much a moment means to the people in the room — and last night was one of those nights. There were tears, there was laughter, there were toasts that said more than words can, and through it all, so much joy. A + C’s rehearsal dinner and welcome party at The Dewberry was a beautiful reminder of everything this wedding weekend means. So honored to be here for it.

The one where the love of my life made his Off-Broadway assistant directing debut! 🤍

No words for how gifted, kind, & humble this man is—or for how it felt to support him in this moment. He was so lucky to have this opportunity, but they were so lucky to have him, too.

Blown away by the incredible team and cast behind @disruptionplay, and amazed by the years of grit that came before to make this moment possible. What a gift to celebrate all of that hard work and talent on opening night earlier this month. An evening we’ll remember always, largely because of those we shared it with.

I love you, @jfoote14. As our girls like to say when something is really, really good… “life change.” You’re amazing.
