POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

For a few weeks now I’ve been walking 2-3 miles every night once the girls fall asleep. When I leave the house I call one friend and if they aren’t free to pickup, I listen to @thejoyfulmorning podcast. I’ve started texting friends to let them know I would try to call in the week ahead, because I’m realizing we don’t actually, old school style call each other much and can get concerned when we do 🤣 Anyway, it’s something small but it’s been good for me as the up and down days have come amid our family’s many transitions. If I’ve been reminded of anything, it’s that 1.) I’m not alone in this challenging, pandemic journey, 2.) I have truly wonderful friends and 3.) When I feel like I don’t know or just can’t, they will stand in the gap for me. And they believe in me, always. 🤍 That’s love, and I’m so grateful for it ✨ How can I encourage you as a new week starts, friend? Hugs from me to you! You’re not alone ☀️ #laurafootephoto #lifeincommunity

Today was a first for me!

A petite newborn session, done in 45 minutes ENTIRELY in the front and backyard of this sweet-as-can-be family’s home!

I brought my 🧺 + stand (popped it right up in their driveway- swipe for BTS 😆!) and one of my favorite moments was when little TJ ran up to check his baby sis as I was getting ready to take a few portraits of just her. It was split second but we got a tender moment of just the two of them, which for a 15 month old and one week old is a win!

I really love how these turned out; a little mix of family, momma + daddy and baby (not pictured: camera in hand, mask on, toddler on my hip for those-ha!) and a few close ups of just baby girl.

Simple, sweet, real life, and a perfect option during these mild weather days, especially for families more comfortable keeping a little extra social distance 🤍✨ All my congratulations on beautiful Amelia, Cory + Katie!

Families with new babies, have you had newborn portraits made during this time? What’s most comfortable to you? Remember, I’m still editing as well for #laborinthetimeofcorona so submit those photos if you haven’t been able to have anyone come! Link in bio! #laurafootephoto #newbornsessionathome #kcnewborn

2020 won’t keep.

And I’m sure we all have a lot of feelings about that statement, but it’s true. It won’t last forever. And yet there’s a strength in this year that I never want to forget, especially as a photographer.

I’ve been present for births, weddings, and deaths this year, all with my camera in hand. Brought in to document life in profound moments. Always an honor. But what about the in between? Even at shoots like I had tonight; in a new to me part of KC with an incredible extended family who found me by a cold call (story for another day!), the intense love and fierce loyalty and grit of this year is present. Visceral.

2020 may not have brought birth, marriage or loss to all of us, but we’ve all had mountaintops and valleys we’ll never forget this year. And it shows. Seriously, humans are amazing, or have the potential to be. Especially right now. There’s good here, friends. Worthy memories despite it all 👏🏽 And there’s strength. An abundance of strength. I will turn to these galleries for years to come when I need encouragement and the reminder that “we CAN” 🤍

Ok, last thing. Color edit, or black and white? 😘✨ #laurafootephoto #2020

Travel updates and availability!

A bit of a funny topic right now, eh? And especially bittersweet as Hurricane Sally is still on the move through Georgia and the Carolinas 🙏 But running a business that is wonderfully rooted in the southeast as much as it is anywhere means my heart stays, too. And through pandemics and storms, I’m continuing to make plans to come back. So, if you’re interested in tentatively booking a session (because flexibility meets “I’ll be there!” Is the name of the game right now!) here are some details for ya 😍

TAMPA November 7, February 5-7
ATLANTA tentative, November 22
BOCA GRANDE tentative, December 11-13
ANNA MARIA ISLAND January 14-18
SEA ISLAND/SAVANNAH March 18-20
JACKSONVILLE March 21

Chicago, St. Louis, NYC, Raleigh + Charlotte may also have dates forthcoming (fall/spring). But for now, I’m so so grateful for these sweet holds on my calendar + reservations in my inbox 🤍! Also grateful that 4 flights with the girls in June were a very easy and safe experience even in these times!

Feel free to DM me if you’re interested in holding a travel session; many of these trips are already nearly full but I’m hoping to leave room to hug 1-2 more of you at each stop! Also, travel waived + special collections still available for spring 2021 weddings ✨ Here’s to continuing to have hope and excitement for the adventures to come! 🌿 #lfpgetaway #laurafootephoto #savannahga #bocagrande #jacksonville #seaisland

Me: Lost in a rabbit hole of all the blogging I’d love to catch up on because so much goes unshared outside of these little squares— stories and images I want y’all to experience!

Also Me: Now I’m hungry thinking about the beachside donut hole+ toppings bar these two had... Yep. Definitely need to blog it! 😍🍩#laurafootephoto #hereforthesnacksandlove #thesandbar #annamariaislandflorida #destinationwedding

Best job ever. Truly! 🤍

I’m finishing deliveries for all 18 sessions I documented in Tampa last weekend during office hours today! Nearly 2,000 images back out the door since I landed Monday night. Truly as wonderful as being at sessions is packaging + delivering these moments to you. Bring on the emoji filled text replies! 🤩🎉📸

This week could have felt crazy, exhaustingly impossible. But friends. Do you want to know what running this business alongside college + a career when I first started a decade ago taught me? Time matters ✨

My workflow gives life, to me and my clients. It allows my “busy season” to be defined by all of the amazing people I get to document, and not by the number of hours I spend at my desk missing time with my family.

If you’re a photographer feeling under water from work, here are a few suggestions that may help!

✨ Block 1 hour after each session for immediate desk time; loading, culling, backing up + a few previews? Done! And if you’ve edited throughout the set, syncing then is ready to go! Worth extending your office hours, care plan for kiddos etc. I even have a car outlet adapter to work from there after my sessions if needed!

👩‍💻 Cull in the program “Photomechanic”. Sounds crazy that .2 seconds can add up as you click between files, but if you’re culling in Lightroom that’s what’s happening and trust me, you’ll save time here!

🤍 Send those 3-5 previews over to your clients within 24 hours of their session. Tag, text, email- they will be so excited! And guess what? Understanding for any additional time you may need for their full gallery will be given, still!

Grateful, grateful. And if you’re a photographer interested in working with an in/person or remote mentor + friend in 2021, I’ll be opening spots in December 💓 Here’s to precious time living this life we’ve been given; behind the camera + in front!

But can we just do this all over again this weekend @hangriff_? Plz? 😍🤍✨

If not, I guess an anniversary Wonka (aka endless PJs, takeout and spooky movies!) weekend at home with my J will be alright 🥰 Thanks for all your sweet well wishes! #laurafootephoto

Our plans to go to a winery for part of their session were thwarted... so we made our own vineyard vibes. Rookie move on not packing an actual bottle to enjoy, but still... ! Haley + Luke, pt 2 😘🍷✨ #laurafootephoto @haleyh2os @lukefields15 HMUA @cieralynn__beauty

Because I know we could all use the sweetness of 10 days new baby Charlie + his mama Kyle and daddy Tommy in our feeds 😘 Highly recommend baby snugs on election day and baby edits on election night 🤍✨ #laurafootephoto

I may or may not have had my associate drive slowly while I stood up through my sun roof (at 21 weeks pregnant!) to shoot as these two waved their way through Boca Grande! One reason I love this magical island; the golf carts are more abundant than cars and everyone is so friendly 🤍

Unforgettable day + couple! Also? Their pup was the sweetest ever. I’ll be forever glad we made a last minute schedule change to loop back for puppy hugs and sunset at their family’s island home before the party! ✨ #storieslovewrites

Ok so since I can’t shoot in waterfalls year round here (#seasons 😆) I need a couple on standby for the first big KC snow!

Must be able to be available on a weekday at 4pm and you’ll receive the session + digital files complimentary! I’ll play weather watcher the next few weeks (crossing fingers we get one snow before Christmas?! Maybe?!)

Shoot location will be in South OP and feels like a Hallmark Movie soooo yeah 😍 Comment below or tag someone you know! Bonus points if you have a 🧥 + accessory combo that’s adorable; I’ll be styling you from your outerwear wardrobe!🤍❄️🌲✨📸 #laurafootephoto @hangriff_ is 4everababe
