I'm so grateful to be performing a completed work of mine for the first time on an NYC stage this weekend <3 On Friday at 6:30 and Saturday at 8:30 you can watch my piece that I choreographed (and am dancing in!!) at Arts On Site! Scroll for some info as well as a couple clips from our tech run <3 I'm super proud of this piece and if you're in NY I'd love to see you there. My bio has the ticket link, my piece Talitha Koum is being performed in Program A!! <3 and yes if you come you will be seeing us dance to a song from the score of Little Women, of course!!

Come see Laura at Modern Night at the Gem! February 14!

Laura Behm is a Kansas City native who began dancing at the age of two with the Heart of America Youth Ballet under the direction of Cindy Monaco. She earned her BFA in Dance Performance and Choreography from UMKC’s Conservatory with a dual emphasis in modern and ballet. While in school she trained under many accomplished professors and performed works by esteemed choreographers, some of which include: Gary Abbott, DeeAnna Hiett, Ronald Tice, Tobin James, Michael Blake, and Ray Mercer. While still in school Laura began her professional career dancing with Kansas City Contemporary Dance Company under the direction of Leigh Murray and Katie Metzger. She also danced in multiple shows with Cedar Fair’s Live Entertainment at KC’s Worlds of Fun, with choreography by Phil Vitug. Laura has also had the privilege of performing in several musicals with Music Theatre Kansas City’s professional company, under the direction of Julie Danelson and David Gomez. While in Kansas City, she enjoyed choreographing for school projects, passion projects, as well as many local schools and theater companies. After a few years of professional experience in Kansas City, Laura relocated to New York City where she has performed with the Gallery Players and in Steps on Broadway’s Industry Showcases. In NYC, Laura has been training in the Jack Cole jazz technique under the direction of Cam Loeser, and she has presented her choreography in The Study Series hosted by and performed at Arts on Site. In the city, she takes class, attends workshops, auditions, and is always on the lookout for her next endeavor!
