Dolly wishing me luck in my marriage and telling me and my friends to enjoy Dollywood!! She did this as a favor for my sweet friend @yourfriendhayley’s mama, who was working with Dolly and Carl Dean at the time. She also gave me a signed copy of Jolene on my wedding day. According to Susan, Dolly was forever doing sweet small things like this for the people around her. Thank you for this, @josiedog67

I don’t have near enough words for how big this loss is, just that I’m gonna try to be more like her for the rest of my life and career. Rest easy Dolly 🦋

Carson and I camped in Big Bend in 2019, on our way out to California. We drove in at night and I’d never seen a place so dark. Pitch black, terrifying almost! Woke up and saw the sunrise on the Chisos Mountains and cried. Had never camped that far west, fell in love with the desert and the rocks and the critters and the sounds. Jumped back and forth between a hot spring and the rapid cold water of the Rio Grande. Marked the start of a new life out west with the love of my life.

Right now, acres and acres of this park are being bulldozed to build a border wall. Floodlights are gonna pierce that pure black sky every night because of the deep, roiling, unabated racism of this country and this administration. The only thing I value more than nature is people, and they are destroying both at a rate that no good soul in this country can handle or understand. It’s evil, it’s devastating, and it’s deeply wrong.

Go sign the letter in @nobigbendwall’s bio, it takes less than a minute and can help stop the destruction. Power to people, to nature, and to goodness god bless taken in Big Bend National Park by @laurapeeklive
