After a whirlwind summer of dizzying BPMs & breakneck fast tempos on dancefloors, Slowburn is back to get you in the mood for slow and slinky and sexy grooves.

With our first international guest DJ, @gi____gi_____ of @indexrecords @mood_hut 🫧🦋🌀

I first met Gi Gi back in 2023 when we both played together at the Watershed in Portland and as part of an INDEX showcase, he played an absolutely stunning downtempo set in the chill out room. I was so captivated, I stayed in Room 2 for the rest of the night after my set. There was a deep and dubwise quality to his selects that spoke to me. His music has been described as "sun beams cutting through crystal water". There is an evocative nostalgia to the music, a patience, and a playful rendering of textures that fit right in at Slowburn. ✨🔮

Now, hot on the heels of his full length for Mood Hut, Gi Gi will make his Slowburn debut and kindly slow it down for us for a special November night at @cafeteria_____

Making a long awaited return to the grotto, Norway’s Telephones is back! 4AM last call Thursday special with local support from Invisible City, Tony Price, Milch, and Mikey Apples! Tickets available now on Resident Advisor

Telephones is renowned as a DJ for his freespirited curveball-mix ranging from balearic tutti-frutti, proto-house and percussion-workouts to cosmic techno, discokraut-gymnastics and outerworldly explorations.

Starting with primitive PC-software and DJing in the late 90s, he has since equally focused on production and DJing, now with more than 20 years experience behind decks and knobs. A firm believer in quality over quantity, Telephones has released a sparse, but highly sought after discography on acclaimed underground-lables like Running Back, Sex Tags UFO, Acido, Love On The Rocks and Klasse Wrecks, as well as production work and remixes for legends like José Padilla, Joan Bibiloni and Vangelis Katsoulis to mention some. taken in Bambi's by @lauraschutte

Toronto staple @lauraschutte joins Hasa for a night that bridges the local underground with the wider world.

A DJ, promoter and core member of the Invisible City Editions crew, and most recently programmer at Cafeteria, Milch brings a playful, 80s‑tinged approach that glides from balearic downtempo and campy synthpop to hypnotic tribal, sleazy new beat and industrial pressure.

Hasa steps up with a crate of house, disco and late night chuggers, leaning into deep grooves, warm low end and heads down, late night dance floor energy.

FRIDAY - JULY 10

The enigmatic and prolific @dtiff_ returns to her native land. Based in Berlin for much of the last decade, Sophie Sweetland has long been one of the underground’s most inventive and forward-thinking voices. Her projects span genres and styles across the more adventurous corners of electronic music: off kilter dark-tronica, “Canadian Riviera” deep house, pumping trance & techno, IDM, ambient - you name it.

Beyond her productions and DJ-ing, Sweetland’s work behind the scenes through her labels (including Planet Euphorique, Plush Records Inc., Delicate Records, and more) has helped shape the sound and direction of contemporary dance music. As a curator, tastemaker, and champion of emerging artists, she has cemented her place as one of the most influential figures in electronic music.

IOU is honoured and excited to bring her back to Toronto at @cafeteria_____ for the first time in nearly three years for this special 4AM last call event. Providing support: IOU executives @rabzziii & @snickharrison plus Cafeteria queen @lauraschutte
