I first met Gi Gi back in 2023 when we both played together at the Watershed in Portland and as part of an INDEX showcase, he played an absolutely stunning downtempo set in the chill out room. I was so captivated, I stayed in Room 2 for the rest of the night after my set. There was a deep and dubwise quality to his selects that spoke to me. His music has been described as "sun beams cutting through crystal water". There is an evocative nostalgia to the music, a patience, and a playful rendering of textures that fit right in at Slowburn. ✨🔮

Now, hot on the heels of his full length for Mood Hut, Gi Gi will make his Slowburn debut and kindly slow it down for us for a special November night at @cafeteria_____

Making a long awaited return to the grotto, Norway’s Telephones is back! 4AM last call Thursday special with local support from Invisible City, Tony Price, Milch, and Mikey Apples! Tickets available now on Resident Advisor

Telephones is renowned as a DJ for his freespirited curveball-mix ranging from balearic tutti-frutti, proto-house and percussion-workouts to cosmic techno, discokraut-gymnastics and outerworldly explorations.

Starting with primitive PC-software and DJing in the late 90s, he has since equally focused on production and DJing, now with more than 20 years experience behind decks and knobs. A firm believer in quality over quantity, Telephones has released a sparse, but highly sought after discography on acclaimed underground-lables like Running Back, Sex Tags UFO, Acido, Love On The Rocks and Klasse Wrecks, as well as production work and remixes for legends like José Padilla, Joan Bibiloni and Vangelis Katsoulis to mention some.

We are thrilled to welcome to Toronto one of New York City’s great underground selectors, Prince Language, for a late-night session in the grotto. Chicago born and New York based, Prince Language came up on a steady diet of cassette tapes of Ron Hardy and the Hot Mix 5, underage nights at the legendary Medusa’s, classic hip-hop, soul, rare groove, jazz, house, disco and everything in between. That anything-goes education still runs straight through his sets today - deep, loose and wildly knowledgeable journeys connecting the underground dance music traditions of Chicago and New York with sounds pulled from across the global musical diaspora. Over the years his edits and remixes for LCD Soundsystem, MGMT, The Rapture, Azari & III and Armand Van Helden, alongside his killer cult series of dancefloor excavations for Editions Disco, have found their way into the bags of everyone from David Mancuso and DJ Harvey to Carl Craig, James Murphy and Todd Terje. Beyond the dancefloor, Prince Language hosts a monthly show on Brooklyn’s The Lot Radio and played an important role in Luaka Bop’s landmark 2017 reissue of Alice Coltrane Turiyasangitananda’s ashram music, helping bring this extraordinary body of work to a new generation of listeners around the world. Prince Language (NYC) lands at Bambi’s September 12 alongside MILCH, Cal-C and Justin La Rose for an all-night basement affair. Going late late late from 10PM–4AM
