For so many years I’ve had some form of “regular email newsletter” on my New Year’s resolution list and I’m finally doing something about it!

Introducing: some thoughts from me, a semi regular email that will be sent straight to your inboxes!

I’m not absolutely sure what it will be about just yet, but I’m leaning towards: whatever it is I am thinking about at the time, so I hope you like surprises ✨✨ It might be ramblings or a poem or a drawing or a combination of all three or something else entirely.

I’m not so great at sticking to things, but I really wanna try this out! This post is for some accountability (and hopefully the fact that other people are on the receiving end will help me get my butt into gear). Hope to see you on the other end of my emails 🫶🫶🫶

🐴🐎⚠️ Horse girls unite 🐴🐎⚠️!!!

I have a piece in this exhibition, running next weekend at @schoolhouse_studios, 17 – 20th September (Thursday to Sunday) in Coburg!

Can’t wait to see all the horsies that people have chosen to represent! Swipe for a sneak peek of my quilted cow girl 💕🤠.

My piece is called “Horses can be cow girls too” and I am very happy with how it turned out! I’ve made various quilts before but nothing like this. I bought nothing new for it; everything is from the stash! I hope this is the beginning of many more quilts 🪡

Happy new year!!! It’s Rosh Hashana (Jewish new year) tonight and I hope your years are sweet!!!🍎🍏🐝🍯 These are a selection of cards I made 🐟

ID: Three Rosh Hashana cards. The first is three herrings that are saying: we’ve been herring something about a new year. The second says: I hope this is your best year sho-far with a shofar underneath and the third is two apples holding hands (red apple and green apple), and they’re saying: Hope your year is apple-solutely wonderful. All three cards say שנה טובה (happy new year) in Hebrew letters at the top. End description.

As I begin to think about my 2026 @melbournefrocktails plans, I have also been keeping in mind my designs from last year! Everything was hand drawn and then scanned, image traced, edited, digitally coloured and put into repeat, to finally be printed at @nextstateprint in cotton twill.

I went through so many iterations of this design — specifically the base, but as you can see in picture 2, I also went back and added in tomatoes and olives (originally it was just going to be a plain pasta print). I even mocked some dresses up because I didn’t know what pattern I wanted to use at this stage.

I was really happy with the outcome of the print and the fabric and although I’ve so far been very indecisive about what I want to do this year, I’m slowly getting some ideas!

Ps I realised I say Peachtober in the video — clearly I was knee-deep in both creative challenges — but I meant Frocktails! Both roll off the tongue nicely

Attempting to be more creative outside of work hours!!! 🖌️🎨🖼️📍🧵🧈🍞

Lately I’ve been doing too much doom-scrolling and not enough of the activities I actually want to (but never get around to).

I am making an appliqué quilt! Hopefully I’ll get it done in time and be happy with the end product, so I can submit to to an exhibition 🐴🤠🪡 The application has a deadline so I’m hoping that will be helpful to me!

The making of the sandwich cake 🎂🍞🥪🍰!!

I made a sandwich cake for my bday and here are some pics of the cake guts! I watched some @tigga_mac videos for inspo but mainly just winged it! I don’t like fondant so I was very happy with my white chocolate solution.

ID: 1&2: The final cake, being cut into triangles! 3. The lettuce, made from wafer paper and painted on food dye. 4. The cheese slices, made from dyed white chocolate (Milky Bar), cut into squares and poked with a metal straw. 5. The cheese on a bed of coconut which I dyed to look like shredded carrot. They’re both sitting on the cake base. 6. The carrot and cheese on the cake, along with the tomato slices (also dye white chocolate), and onion, which I made from sour strings. 7. The final cake insides, with all the salad ingredients stacked. 8 a video of the final cake insides. 9. The final sandwich (top on), cut into two giant triangles. There are “29” birthday candles between the two halves. End description.

I started this heart shaped trinket dish in June last year…anyway happy to say it’s finally finished and I think it’s quite cute ❤️🍦🍥💗

VD: A vídeo showing the making of this dish. I made the ice creams / hearts / swirls on the top of the dish using a mould. I explain that I dried the top and bottom together (silly) so the got stuck, but the I managed to unstick it (finally). The glaze is pink, and the inside of the lid has crawled !!! but the bits and pieces and in shades of reds, pinks and purples. There are videos of me glazing the top pink and of painting the little top pieces. I zoom in on the unglazed (but unfired) piece to reveal the fired and glazed piece in all its glory. End description.

Did a phulkari workshop through @lanewaylearning via @kingstonartsau 🧵🪡📍

This Punjabi embroidery style was new to me, and I enjoyed learning about the techniques used and then trying them myself. I found it quite challenging to have a clean back but it was good fun trying to count the tiny holes in the fabric to (try and) keep it even.

VD: The process of Phulkari. It starts with my supplies: hoop, pencil, paper, carbon paper, fabric, thread, needle. I used the carbon paper to transfer the design onto the fabric and then did my best to only hav a tiny piece of thread at the back of the fabric. The end result is more is a sampler of red and orange thread than a finished piece. End description.

When I did my exchange in Manchester, I was lucky enough to have access to a riso printer!

I had done riso printing once or twice before but was stoked to be able to spend more time with it; it still confuses me to no end (as far as I understand, it’s kiiiiind of like a photocopier in a way??) and I would love to get more into it here.

Our assignment was about making a shoe. I went with a sensory route (my shoe changed colour when wet) — and I used the delightful colours of a riso printer to advertise all the bells and whistles of my shoe 👞 👡🥿🩴👠

I’ve been thinking a bit about my Manchester work, so keep your eyes peeled for some of my work from then!

Made this giant rosette…last year (or maybe even the year before) for a show and then decided I don’t like it!!! I was planning to make a series (and I actually made two before I decided to can the idea).

Looking back I don’t dislike it as much as I used to, and if another textile show comes up that this works for, maybe I can finally finish the collection!

ID: A 3D rosette made from fabric. It is green and the ribbon on the outside it print. The legs?? are various shades of green — light green and a dark green velvet. It has the word “composted” embroidered into it in brown, which has a dotted line underneath and two leaves at the ends of the dotted line. The rosette is sitting on a two tone blue background. On the weekend I went with my friend to a workshop run by @danmchugh_art at @26_advantage 🖼️

We learnt how to make paper (swipe to the end to see a video of my finished paper!!!) and also how to create paper stencils and print with them. I printed an onion and a tomato 🍅.

Paper making is kind of a delight and I was quite happy with the two prints I made. I usually take forever to ideate and plan and execute but I really tried my best to keep it simple and I’m happy with my two veggie prints 🧅.

Winter #ootds ❄️☁️🧥👢💧Very cold 🥲

ID: These are all mirror lift selfies. 1. Dark blue Dejour jeans, @rollienation boots, an sparkly striped turtleneck (op shop), and a secondhand fuzzy coat with pink heart buttons. 2. A shirt that is black, white, purple with two slightly hidden birds. My mom used to wear it when she was younger and she gave it to me! Long purple skirt from the op shop, with my Rollie boots. Same fuzzy blue coat. 3. My beloved Uniqlo x Marimekko jumpsuit, Rollie boots, and extremely beloved Rainkoat rain jacket (in lilac) 4. Brown cords (from Savers many years ago), white sneakers, a blue jumper with white daisies on it, and I’m holding my purple rain jacket in my hands. 5. Can’t see much of the outfit, except for my red coat (op shop buy a few years ago), and my knee high black boots (from my mom). 7.
