I do what I do to be the representation I wish to see. I want others to think “if SHE can do it, I KNOW I can.” I want Black Creators to tell their own stories and know the magic they carry is needed in this world. There is place and space for us.

Child Of The Sun is a love letter to my community. For us all to embrace change and honor who we truly are. To get back to our child-like innocence and let that light lead our way.

It is a visual for Black men specifically to stop carrying around all that emotional baggage… it’s heavy love. Give yourselves permission to release. you can put it down.

@childofthesun.film is officially released to world. Take the time to share it.

CHILD OF THE SUN • A @laurenrascoe.creative production • starring @raphstringer, @laurenrascoe, @AliMitchell @_beautiful_obsession_ • An unsuspecting Black man comes face to face with change, which challenges him to see himself for who he really is. He learns to embrace change by seeing he has everything he needs within him. He picks up the pieces of himself that he needs and leaves behind what no longer serves him; continuing onward to the next level of his journey: the unknown.

Produced in collaboration with @vidzbyg @ow.productions @shootdreamz @seeyouonthewest.

IT’S A WRAP! We’ve got another one in the can! What an honor it was to be given the opportunity to direct LIFE (Lying In Front of Everyone) and bring another Michaela P. Shelton production to literal life. Time and time again, @michaela.p.shelton takes a chance on me and helps me rise to the occasions that elevate my skill and my craft in this industry.

Thank you for trusting me with your vision. Thank you to my A1 Day1, @vidzbyg for consistently joining me on these productions. Our shorthand is really coming in clutch. Thank you to our amazing producers, @cine.dexx, @merquillo, @vivalapalma, and @tajiannaokechukwu! Ya’ll really made sure this thing could happen. Thank you to the amazing crew!! Your dedication and your passion for filmmaking shined through. We made a F*CKING MOVIE this weekend and I am so grateful for all of your trust and belief in me to guide you to the finish line.
